*Lowkey* murders the alphabet in 3 different ways. First with *Alphabet Assassin* in 2008 where he goes forwards. Then with this *Fire in the Booth - Part 1* in 2010 where he uses a load of acronyms, and spelling stuff out. Then with his *Fire in the Booth - Part 2* in 2017 where he goes backwards. You'll notice most of the stuff from his *FITB's* appear in some of his songs and other freestyles. Here's the acronyms explained: *HMV* = *His Masters Voice* - The biggest entertainment store chain in the UK. It sells everything related to film, TV, music and gaming, like DVD's, Blu-rays, CD's, vinyl records, computer games, games consoles, headphones, earphones, speakers, turntables, games contollers, film/TV/music related books, posters, clothes and other related merchandise. It's biggest rival used to be *Virgin Megastores* until 2007, when *Zavvi* took over. However even though *Zavvi* only managed to last for a couple of years on the high street, *HMV* is stuggling like most high street chains today, in the online world, which is annoying for people like me who don't shop online. *KFC* = *Kentucky Fried Chicken* - One of the biggest chicken fast-food chains in the world, and also just the acronym for the food itself. *HMP* = *Her Majesty's Prison/Her Majesty's Pleasure* - When someone is in prison, they are being detained at "Her Majesty's Pleasure" as the Queen is technically in charge of everything. *A&E* = *Accident and Emergency* - The area of a hospital where people go when they're in need of urgent medical attention. *LDN* = *London.* *NYC* = *New York City.* *MIB* = I've no idea what he means, as the only *MIB* I know is the *Men In Black,* which doesn't really fit the context. *BIG* = *The Notorious BIG* - Rapper from New York. *MVP* = *Most Valuable Player* - The greatest person in their chosen field. *VIP* = *Very Important Person* - Someone who gets special treatment. *CD* = *Compact Disc.* *DVD* = *Digital Versatile Disc.* *BBC* = *British Broadcasting Corporation* - The biggest TV network in the UK. Possibly the biggest radio network in the UK, however they have stong competition from *Bauer, Global* and *Wireless Group* if they are. Possibly the biggest news network in the UK, however again they have stong competition from *ITN* and *Sky* if they are, plus all they have all the print media companies like the *News UK, Reach, DMGT, GMG, TMG, JPI Media, Newsquest* etc to compete with too. *ITN* = *Independent Television News* = As mentioned above they're probably the 2nd biggest news company in the UK after the *BBC News* as *ITN* run *ITV News, Channel 4 News* and *Channel 5 News.* It's also a production company which focuses on factual shows and documentaries. *ITV* = *ITV plc* formerly known as *Independent Television* - The 2nd biggest TV network in the UK. The biggest production company in the UK. The biggest producer of non-scripted shows in the USA. Has the 2nd, 6th and 7th most watched channels in the UK (it's flagship channel was the most watched channel in the UK between 1981 and 2001). And it's the majority owner of *ITN.* *IC3* = *Identity Code 3* - Police code for Black suspects. *IV* = *Intravenous Therapy* - The "drips" used in hospitals to deliver fluid into veins. *ICU* = *Intensive Care Unit* - Department of a hospital where patients need constant care. *OT* = I've no idea what he means, as I always assuumed he meant *OTT* (Over The Top), but he probably means something else. *SOB's* = *Son's of Bitches.* *MC's* = *Master of Ceremonies/Emcee's* - Alternative name for a rapper. Mainly assocated with people who rapped over the various subgenres of *Electronic Dance* music (like *House, Drum and Bass, Dubstep* etc) and *UK Garage* which is where the *Grime* and *Bassline* genres came from. *OAP* = *Old Age Pensioner* - Old people who have usually retired. What Americans call *senior citizens.* *CIA* = *Central Intelligence Agency* - Foreign intelligence service of the USA. *FBI* = *Federal Bureau of Invesigation* - Domestic intelligence service of the USA. *MI6* = *Military Intelligence Section 6* - Foreign intelligence service of the UK, officially known as the *SIS* (Secret Intelligence Service). *MI5* = *Military Intelligence Section 5* - Domestic intelligence service of the UK, officially known as the *Security Service.* *A3* - Motorway connecting the city of *Portsmouth* with the county and region of *London* (aka the city which isn't actually a city). It's what Americans call a *freeway.* *A/C* = *Air Conditioning.* *FYI* = *For Your Information.* *MJ* = *Michael Jackson.* *PYT* = *Pretty Young Thing.* *TYP* = *Touch Your Penis.* *CID* = *Criminal Invesigation Department.* *BNP* = *British National Party* - Far-right political party who were often accused of being facist or racist. *EDL* = *English Defence League* - Far-right political party who are often accused of being facist or racist. *BFG* = *Big Friendly Giant* - However I suspect he meant *Big Friendly Gangsters,* as that would make more sense. In other words they try to act like gangsters, but are teddy bears really. *GCSE* = *General Certificate of Secondary Education* = The qualifications you get at the age of 16 in *Secondary School* which Americans call *High School.* *COD* = *Call of Duty.* *PS3* = *PlayStation 3.* *DP* = Most likely stands for *Dead Prez* the Hip Hop group. *PE* = Most likely stands for *Public Enemy* the Hip Hop group. *KRS* = *KRS-One* - Rapper from New York. *BDP* = *Boogie Down Productions* - Hip Hop group which had *KRS-One* as a member. *MP* = *Member of Paliament.* *ADD* = Most likely *Attention Deficit Disorder* - Now known as *ADHD* (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). *PG* = *Parental Guidance* - Films suitable for children under the age of 12. *KKK* = *Ku Klux Klan.* *AK* = *Avtomat Kalashnikova* - A range of guns designed by Mikhail Kalashnikov, most likely referring to the *AK-47.* *AKA* = *Also Known As.* *AA* = *The AA plc* formerly known as *The Automobile Association* - British company which provides breakdown cover, vehicle insurance, driving lessons, route planners, and other vehicle services or advice. They also now provide things unrelated to vehicles like mortgages, home insurance, holiday home insurance, contents insurance, building insurance, life insurance, pet insurance, savings accounts, loans, credit cards, travel currency cards, wills and testaments etc. *ASAP* = *As Soon As Possible.* *DDT* = Wrestling moving where there's debate as to what the letters actually stand for. *JLS* = *Jack the Lad Swing* or *Jealous* - Either would fit as *JLS* are a *Pop/R&B* boyband, so he could be accusing them of being mainsteam, or he could just be saying they're jealous.
This was a hard one to catch, these lyrics are all online btw. "I'm certainly burning these burglars verbally Merking these merkers 'til mercenaries murder me Burst in and turnin' your Burberry burgundy Guernsey to Germany, Jersey to Bermondsey."
This was an actual freestyle, unlike most of the fire in the booths nowadays. Most verses are taken form various songs in his early albums, 'who said I can't do grime' is a grime track, to prove he can do it, he just doesn't want to. This was prime time grime vs hip hop in the UK
Yo new UK sub here! Just discovered your channel last night and I've gotta say your already one of my favorite reaction channels, you obviously take the time to break down bars and try and take it all in. The amount of love I'm seeing UK hip hop and grime getting from your side if the pond has me gassed man! Nuff love bruv🔥
Yo Nathan, thank you very much bro! The UK is coming hard man, I am loving this discovery of new (to me) artist. Thanks again for the kind words and support!
I love how you catch the bars brother so much love an respect to you bro much love from Aotearoa New Zealand you have earned my sub chur my brother god bless
This is nearly a decade old and still pure fire....timeless session. Lowkey is another P.A. great. When a rapper is from the P.A or the Movement you ought to know beforehand they are going to flawless. 💯🎤🥇🥇🥇🔥
bro as u mentioned it you have to check out his 2 diss tunes one is called the warning and the other is top 1 selected. loving ur reactions. your going to lovethhese tracks
Lowkey was having some health problems during this time and during his fire in the booth freestyle you can hear it in his breathing. Please react to his singles where he has one of the best flows in the UK, his tracks: Who said I can't do grime & Soundtrack to the struggle & Fire in the booth Pt 2 And so many others... 🔥🔥
Btw his "Madelene " bar was about the little girl Madelene macanne who went missing from her hotel room on holiday with her family because they were outside having dinner and just popping in to check on the kids every so often so they got a lot of criticism from people here in the UK x Also.... The reason why he said big up to Charlie at the end was because this was the first time anyone had put lowkey on the radio because of his political content and no..... I'm pretty sure he's never been on Tim Westwoods show which kinda ties into what I just said x
this is why i enjoy watching reactions, i saw this when it 1st come out, and have probably listened to it over 100 times, and i never once caught the milli vanilli line lol, thanks for that
Another great reaction brother, lowkey is good friends with Akala, another one of lowkeys you will love is voices of the voiceless with immortal technique. As always love and blessings brother 🙏❤️
@@sacjuggalo Like scott cain said he is good friends with Akala, but also with Mic Righteous, Logic (the UK Logic) and English Frank. These 5 rappers are all 🔥 in my opinion, and all with their own style. They also did a lot of songs together especially Logic and Lowkey. They (and many more rappers) all started in the Peoples Army.
@@dannythedoodle I'm not sure, but will look to see if I have. I listen to a lot of music lol. If I have not I will for sure put it on the list. Thanks again bro!
He said "Who said I can't do grime," wich is also a song by him. It's the same as this Fire In The Booth, but a little shorter, and on a different beat, and no censorship. Nice reaction btw!
Grate reaction dude as always the best thing about this f.i.t.b is that's it was one of the last to do it live on the radio and not recorded like it is now so no messing up as it's live also before you do part 2 check out lowkey alphabet assassin he murders it from a-z but part 2 he dose z-a
love seeing peoples first reactions to him, he's VERY versatile with the styles if you follow his music. Few of the artists that will evoke every emotion out you
@@sacjuggalo Quality over quantity brotha! Don't exhaust yourself in one day, especially because this cat has so much to say (heads up for pt2). I like how you took the time to break down as many bars as you could!
@@dirtythirtypsn I feel you bro! It just keeps raining here and my mic picks it up and is real annoying lol Thanks again bro! It is looking like tomorrow after work. I think it is supposed to stop by tomorrow.
Already! Wow. Nice to see you liked lowkey too. I told you about them. And you are still just on fitb. You just wait untill you get to all the tracks they have. Keep it up man
@@sacjuggalo Thank u I'm an artist too someday I would love to see your reaction on my music too this will Amazing cz I'm here from around 600subs and it's just a starting 😚 I hope you hit. K's quickly
Another great reaction. Akala and Mic Righteous brought me to your channel, but Lowkey is definitely right up there in the same league. I'd recommend reacting to his tracks "Obamanation" part 1 & 2. Also, "Find No Enemy" by Akala
Thank you bro! I got pt 2 of the Lowkey FITB rendering now! I also have both Obamanation tracks coming soon. I will add Find no Enemy to the list! Thanks again!
🔥🔥🔥 reaction mate 👍 you should check out his daily duppy (after his FITB part 2, im sure you can't wait to get to that one first! 😉) keep up the good work bro 👍
I believe HMV is a store in England and KFC is Kentucky Fried Chicken. If you like the first part you should check out his song Alphabet Assassin. He kills te alphabet from A to Z. In the first part of his second FITB he does it from Z to A. He said: "Don't care about your swagger, mandem, or medallion What's the matter then, maggot where's your magnum? When there's beef, mandem are missing like Madeleine" Madelaine is Madeleine Beth McCann (born 12 May 2003) disappeared on the evening of 3 May 2007 from her bed in a holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, she is still missing. Very sad. And yes he was censoring himself.
Thank you for the breakdowns, it would have taken me 5 more times through that. He was snappin for sure and he is a smart dude too. I got pt. 2 coming tomorrow! Thanks again bro!
@@sacjuggalo TBH mate.... You catch way more than I do on the first listen.... 👊 I was only saying that it would help because of the way he was spelling out bars! 😂 definitely worth looking on genius though because they have some back stories on there sometimes and it might help with the slang too? X
@@sacjuggalo sooner the better! no problem man, don't be afraid to look up the lyrics on RapGenius or another site so you have them if you need them during the freestyle
@@sacjuggalo OMG definitely need to check out Harry shotta..... He's a literal "animal" (his track animal beat Eminem's record for most lyrics in a 6 min track) with his fast flow but is super clear with it so u will hear what he's spitting! 😜👍
