Today were going over Setting up your Lowrance Elite FS Fish Finder for Ice Fishing. This instructional video will show you how to make your summer boat unit better than any flasher on the Market. From start to finish. Joclyn also mentions some great tips during the video for target definition, setting the sensitivity, using your zoom levels and backtrack features properly.
Going through the settings step by step by yourself is great for helping to learn your fish finder unit top to bottom and for a better experience on the water. This helps to increase your odds of finding fish. If at any point you ever need to re-program your unit you can refer back to this video.
This seminar is by Prostaff and Electronics Expert Joclyn Leung of Angling Outfitters in Woodstock, Ontario. He has over 30 years experience in Electronics and owns one of the biggest stores in Canada. Joclyn is considered one of the most knowledgable experts in Canada for electronics and has been published in outdoor magazines. People travel from hours away to shop, buy from his store and seek out his expertise.

With electronics pushing the ability to be more productive on the hard water it's greatly appreciated that these guys give us the tools to get the most out of these fishing systems . Thanks again and keep the videos coming

Why not use high chirp instead of 200Mhz on one of the splits? Thought I heard you guys mention that on older units. Thanks for teaching us, I didnt even know what I had, cant wait to start using my unit.
@hookedntravel

you can do that as well! the 200 and 83 kHz are mainly for the video. There shouldn't be interference but if you see any or other sonar/flashers nearby, can switch to clean up your image. The dual cone, is unreal! Cheers

Thank you for the setup vids!! I have the elite Fs and a hook 4. Do you have recommendations when using them near each other. I get bad interference when they are both running. Thanks again!!
@hookedntravel
@hookedntravel Год назад
yes we do. So the elite FS is going to be the better unit obviously. It's going to have more in the computer to reduce interference. The eliteFS is going to have more options on cone angles, dual cones and frequencies. Try only running one cone, Try high chirp or 200khz. You may have to only be Able to run one frequencies on one unit, then another freq. on the other. I would play around with Ping speed, frequencies, and maybe using them further apart. Also sensitivity is going to out put more power as well which may increase read interference.

these videos really helps me configure my unit, damn I was so limited before! You explain everything really good! Great video, once again! Do you recommend any ice sonar in particular to my FS Elite 9? Happpy new Year!

thank you for the kind words, glad it helped you. Would be the one Joclyn has in the video. The 9 pin ice transducer (PTI-WBL). I think Lowrance calls it the Ice Transducer with 9 Pin Connector on their site.

Good afternoon. Which sonar is for lowrance fs models for winter fishing

Just started running the Lowrance Ice Bundle with Active Target using my Live 9 from my boat. Is there a sensitivity setting on the Active Target ? Or will the sensitivity that I normally use on my Live 9 adjust the sensitivity on the Active Target ? Thanks
@hookedntravel
@hookedntravel Год назад
If you're on the sonar screen, that sensitivity level is just for the sonar. The active target contrast is your sensitivity. They've combined the settings for user friendliness and it adjust them together for the best readout. We have an active target setup video on our page that goes over it, we also have an Active Target Setup for ice fishing video come out soon too. Stay tuned for that

Am I able to do this on my elite fs 7?
@hookedntravel
@hookedntravel Год назад
Yes you will be able to. The 9 and 7 inch are the exact same unit. Cheers

Is 22 degrees the tightest cone angle this unit can do???
@hookedntravel
@hookedntravel Год назад
For the ice transducers yes it is.
@bauml1619
@bauml1619 Год назад
So the high chirp setting does not tighten the cone?
@bauml1619
@bauml1619 Год назад
Or is there anyway I can get a tighter cone?
@hookedntravel
@hookedntravel Год назад
@@bauml1619 chirp will actually tighten it a little bit. It's based on a set of frequency ranges on the higher end, for better target definition and sweeps through a range of frequencies and cone angles. For this 9-pin transducer, we confirmed with the lowrance tech that what we state in the video is the correct angle. Manufacturers can change cone angles for frequencies on transducers depending on the updates and how the operating system is set.
