My favourite thing about Ben proposing to Serge is definitely that both Graham and Jorbs immediately pull out their phones, but Graham also has the decency to shoot it landscape rather than portrait what with being a filmmaker and all.

the joke of the mermaid quiz is all it's questions refer to things that were true in 1988 when the park shut down (or maybe earlier when the machine was made), but aren't true today. so Countries like Czechoslovakia that existed then but don't exist now would count. Also a question of how many planets their are (back when Pluto was considered a planet). What you should eat most (when the food pyramid was taught). and where on the tongue you taste things (back when we thought different parts of the tongue tasted different things).
