PART 2 - Video coverage of the La Romana Residents Association water meeting on 18th September 2012 / PARTE 2 - Video de la reunión de la Asociación Vecinos de La Romana el 18 de septiembre 2012 para discutir el problema del agua.
Chair: Ian Pell
Co-Chair / Translator: Daniela Soriano
Secretary: Janet Sparrow
Mayor: Manuel Hernández Riquelme
Water President: José Torregrosa
Minutes: Michael Sparrow & Carmen Galipienso
The local water association have announced that from Monday 24th September the quality of water received through agricultural pipelines will be greatly reduced as they will be using recycled sewage water. This is a concern to many users who also reply on this water for their domestic supply.
The water association have said user should therefore connect to new domestic supply pipes - but this is at a cost of €800, with very short notice. The LRRA therefore called this meeting, which was well attended with over 150 Spanish and non-Spanish residents very keen to ask questions and express their views.
I am sorry that the quality of this video is not better, and also that at times the meeting became a bit chaotic - in true Spanish style! However we did manage to get answers to the majority of questions, and also a bit of grace to pay by installments instead of upfront.
Full meeting minutes will be posted when available.
