That's a lot cleaner than my 5.3 I started with and the guy that had it done the same thing did not change the oil like he suppose to. So me and the machine shop had to clean a lot !
I have heard so many stories about jasper remanufactured engines... Why are people still using them? Quality has been a problem there since the mid 1990's! Crazy
@@scottvanessendelft408 yea I’ve read so many stories from the bores being egg shaped and everything else I got a deal on the motor but I’m totally gonna go through it and just use the long block lol
I'm tearing into a 2004 GM reman LQ4 with a bad thrust bearing/crank currently. At least it was put together better than the Jasper one, crazy. Does the Jasper one have signs of a re-balanced crank (for the bigger pistons)?
@@starwarsgamer4 I really don’t know if I could tell a rebalance or not with out having a oem crank to look at It’s got your basic drill holes in it This one too had a noticeable amount of slop in the thrust that by hand you could hear it make a audible clunk when ya pull the front but the bearings didn’t look bad at all
@@kingmeshech5527 nope you didn’t miss anything I’m gonna upgrade it this winter I got a good deal for it so I took it lol If I use the block and rotating assembly with all my stuff on the 5.3 or essentially just gain 50cubic inches over what I got now I should see a good gain in torque and a little hp and for the dollar per hp rule I can’t buy anything else for under $700-800 that will give me this much of a gain Not to mention that I can now run rec port stuff in the future if I want too and the used race pats marketplace is bigger for 6.0 stuff
