The LS laid the base down nice and smooth and the same with the WS for the clear, I don't think you would get a better finish than what these guns can deliver. I don't have the older WS400 but if it's anything like the Series 2 WS400 then it will be a great gun, I only have the WS400 series2 1.3HD Digital as the LS uses to much air for my setup. I've heard there is a quality control issue with the new WS and LS Digital versions where the black chrome plating is flaking off so the release of them has been delayed for you good folks in the USA, I think this only applies to the digital versions, I don't know how true this is as mine has been flawless since I got it around last October🤔👍John UK
@@outdoor_lifestyle_0149 The series 2 has minor changes made to the fan control. The older Supernovas would have a dry spot in the middle with full fan, the Series 2 attempted to fix that as well as the split nozzle orientation on the gun. A properly adjusted Series 1 will spray exactly the same as the Series 2. Don't buy the digital version because of the peeling chrome issue. The digital version is made in Italy and has some quality control problems.
I've used these guns over the years when custom paintig ( full resprays) great gun but not for me now . I've bought the new generation and don't use them much it may be me i don't know !!! Great vid .
Damn that hood is super flat and no dirt or anything that I can see… awesome finish! I currently use the same gun for PPG essential fleet single stage and it’s hard to get a finish like that!
I spray clear with WS400 EVO 1 year all day in shop with brutal results! Mirror finish! I just buy a Devilbiss DV1 C1 cap its ok in cold days but gun is verry slow and compare to iwata bro... no chance all day long EVO for custom and mirror finish! I like Devilbiss has short trigger and it's ok in hand!
I have the Entec 1.2 ETS for base , works great for me since we are in a state where its really dry and the elevation is high , it keeps the base nice and wet and doesn't modle at all , i will eventually get the 1.3 nozzle tip set for when it gets really hot in the booth , for the WS400 1.3 HD I use the 530 and the 2021 clear with it and I feel like iwata was made for Envirobase lol.
Looks sick! Great guns love them both! I want a pair of the new series 2 just not sure if it’s worth buying those since these are phenomenal spray guns. Thanks for the review keep up the good work as always!
Kandy Man. Spray Guns Direct in England is basically just about giving away these Series 1 Iwata guns as they already have the Series 2. Don't forget since we don't live in the EU we don't pay VAT tax so you can remove the VAT from the price shown. If you're serious about getting these now is the time to strike. The GB Pound is also at a relatively low level with respect to the USD which also helps.
I’ve tried many guns for clear but always go back to my WS400 and been using it for years .My LS400 Entech is also my go to base gun.I was using the Sata Jet 5000 Rp when we were spraying spies water but now that we switched to solvent my Entech sprays it great .I would love to get a new WS400 HD I think mine is getting aged .
I didn't know the originals had plastic knobs. There's a gold cap for the ws400 that had people split. I don't know much about it but supposedly it was like a c2 cap situation it was just better for some people. Others hated it with a passion.
If you get the chance I really recommend trying out EC530 clear it’s my favorite to spray as an everyday clear and it has better gloss retention then the DCU2021 and it lays down better as well as being able to build the car right out of a bake cycle
