I like that LSV posts 0-3s, 1-3s, and isn't ashamed of his losses. Helps show that even the pros have bad days in a game with as much variance as Magic

Doesn’t matter how good a white black deck looks in this format, this is always the result in my experience.

Game 1 really shows the weakness of BW in this format IMO: LSV had a solid looking hand, but it kinda just fell apart when the opponent removed Vito. Once your opponent removes your Vito/Bartolome, you're kind of just playing a bunch of small ground creatures that lose to fliers, bigger things or better aggro decks (so, everything else).

Always interesting seeing people who really know their stuff draft. Over the 200 or so drafts I have done in the last 5 years I have gotten 7 wins maybe 5 or 6 times. Primarily, I never understood how to find the lane, either I durdle too much or switch too soon. Add onto that misjudging a cards standalone power and that leads to a lot of 2-3s and 3-3s. The deck you drafted looked very good, with a lot of synergy so I am very surprised it only did 1-3.

I had Bartolome and Vito in my pre-release, only lost one match vs an insane r/g dinos deck. Very fun archetype, instant speed saccing of both artificats and creatures makes for some sneaky plays. Great stuff LSV

Thought this deck was gonna be the nuts. Looks like you were missing too much removal in place of synergy pieces

Surprised you didn't play the archeologist. Had them in a similar deck and they were great with the totes

Sometimes you just can't afford to bin spells cuz you never know if the next card is a land you don't need

He doesn't play enough removal these days. In a set full of insane rares and mythics you need more removal, cause your common synergies won't cut it.

I was shocked that you didn't play almost any removal. This deck had so much potential if you didn't build it up as a standard combo deck.

It says a lot that a Hall of Fame drafter got an amazing looking B/W deck ... and went 1-3. I think the lesson is to draft the best colors (red, white, blue) no matter what. Don't be tempted by cool combos - pick the best color(s). With Wilds of Eldraine, I just kept drafting Rakdos and kept winning because that was the best color combo by far.

I'm not sure why you value cosmium blast so low. Would have helped a lot in all of the games to have a little more removal. Of course, a petrify is generally better, but I feel it still has its place. 4 damage is a lot.

I had a similar experience with my pre release I had a black and white sac deck with Vito and it just didn't do much. the cards were all just mediocre with slight value if you can get the synergies out at the same time but once they removed one of the pieces you just have a bunch of weak stuff

What does LSV stand for

the BW rare 2 drop is a trap, dawnrunner is better. Vito's inquisitor is way better in this deck than gnawer or spiketail. Also, draught and glorifier are horrible cards. They have synergy with the deck, but you could've taken better cards. I was super interested to see how this deck played but I think you could've made some better choices during deckbuilding

So many punts and missed plays.... to see this amazing brew just be frittered away

You keep passing caves for cards you cut and then wonder why you flood out.

i think personally , your choices of cards in draft where in every round 1-3 very, like VERY good. just the deck building, i would have chosen two different options. For example, companion directly out. no sac value for black white and a map token.. okay who cares. is not so effective. and freebooter is in compare to that directly in form the firs tmoment. very good sac value And jeah the worm is a 50/50 choice idk about that. main problem for your b/w i would say your kill spells where kinda nothing or bad. only one dead weight. petrify ok but nothing else?

Arena shuffler with lands has been insane this season. I have drawn 10 landa in the top 15 cards twice one time when i had 16 lands the other 17. Its fucked. I also drew 9 lands in the top 20 cards 3 times. I think Its prioritizing lands toward the upper half of the deck.

Arena is so trash! 6 consecutive lands in one game and gets flooded in the last game. This type of stuff happens to me on a daily basis, but it's so hard to downgrade back to moto graphic and mechanic wise.
