Witherbloom needs too many pieces to work. It and Lorehold has the same problem of you need specific cards drawn in the right order to win, where as the other 3 college all have a better game plan tbh.

I see your point, but I have to disagree with you here. Witherbloom need multiple pieces to work, but thats mostly that you need to get payoff cards. Blood researchers is one of the few payoff cards, while almost all of witherbloom are enablers (lifegain). Don't get me wrong, LSV should most likely not have picked them in this position, but blood researcher should still be one of the higher picked commons after removal.

watching strix drafts makes me realize how much flavor plays into my enjoyment of a set. kaldheim was just so much more fun for me

Strixhaven is the first set i've been watching since Return to Ravnica. :) The "Magic University" is just such an easy and tangible trope that it helped me get a grasp of the set quick. So yea, flavor really pays a big part in how much you enjoy something.

I didn't see it at first, I loved kaldheim and thought STX was a serious step backwards. But the variety really adds some depth and makes kaldheim feel one-dimensional.

Man these box-break ads are obnoxious on my speakers. Not only is the overall volume a bit higher, but I think it's because they use more bass than the rest of the video (disclaimer: I'm no audio expert). LSV doesn't have any bass in his voice, so my woofer doesn't get engaged at all. Then suddenly BAM all speakers engaged.

I understand you draft what you get passed but ive been getting just destroyed by temur drafters so much. Is it correct to force quandrix splash red alot of the time. I have had success with silverquill but the commons in temur are nutty

That game against Yo-Richy-P is why this format is so frustrating. Opponent’s deck was a pile of hot garbage and then they cast a Crackle with Power and squeak out a win ...

Not 5 minutes later, I was introduced to a TRUE pile of hot garbage in the next opponent’s decks. What are these decks in this video? They make every opponent I play in this format look like hall of famers.

I feel ya. If I get one more blot out the sky cast against me I'm gonna lose it. That said, I don't feel like it's that different from most sets in this regard. Mythic rares are good at winning games of limited.

35:18 gotta do more math LSV. You had lethal for X=2 exactly. They have 9 toughness, and you had 9 power outside of your 20/5 if you count the counters you get from casting Exponential Growth and the presumative Charge Through for your apprentice. If you had done that, you would have survived the turn with enough mana for snow day.

Ya missed a a 3/3 lifelike trample witherbloom creature in pack 3 second to last pick. It would have been perfect with exponential growth and easily splashable with the field trips
