You have such beautiful fabric! I live in a very small community in Wyoming and the nearest fabric store is 2 hrs away. Thank you for your wonderful tutorials!
Oh wow! I'm very close to three Joann stores but I buy most of my fabric from www.stashfabrics.com. Their photos are very color true and they have a design area where you can mix and match fabrics. I love them!
To prevent fabric from bowing while being cut on the fold you need to open up the fabric to starch and iron then fold selvage to salvage but line up the grain then iron and iron the next fold lining up the edges. When you start to cut along the ruler start a couple inches past the folded edge then back up then follow to the end. It works. I’m a quilter and bag maker plus I make clothing sv an and since I’ve been sewing since age 6 (43 more) I’ve watched a ton of tutorials and read a lot of sewing books.
Hi Heather, I just found your channel, thank you for the great tutorial! Can you tell us about those cute boards you used to keep your pattern pieces? Did you make them yourself?
Thanks!! You can make them out of foam board and spray glue some quilt batting on but I bought mine from www.fatquartershop.com. They were all made with Lori Holt fabric on the edges. She's one of my favorite fabric designers.
Thanks for your video! I have used fusible fleece. Not Decovil yet. What made you choose the fusible fleece over the Decovil? Thank you! Just trying to learn the differences. ❤️
Decovil is thinner so if you're looking for stability without the fluff then that's a good choice. If you want some extra padding or lift, then the fleece is good.
Hi, I can't share all the piece measurements as it's not my pattern. I would suggest following the link in the description to download the pattern. The finished size of my bag is 8x8 but they also have a mini version that is 6x8.
