I am sorry for the vague question before. At 18:51 for surge voltage generator, there are two switches with two control voltages. How did you select the values of control times?

Yes. Although there is a point to most of the standard and the reason for having standards. Though it does need to be justified.

Great idea! I used to use a triac as a crude model once upon a time - this is much closer.
