This is me showing how to install a big bore kit on my 2004 Arctic Cat DVX400! Current Rides - 2005 Nissan Titan 2013 Toyota Yaris 1996 Suzuki DR350 2003 Honda 400EX 2005 Arctic Cat 500 4x4 2004 Arctic Cat DVX400
Hey man I was wondering I’m thinking about doing the same thing with my ltz400 what else did you have to do after the rebuild after for it run right and did it sound louder or notice the power increase?
@@keithparady2594 I actually didnt get to ride it before I rebuilt the engine but I can tell you when I get it perfectly dialed in and geared it's going to be smooth and fast.
@@dbaKen thats what I thought I riped the head off to double check the valves just incase it was that but it was good so I guess imma try to rejet it thanks for the help
Base gasket goes under the cylinder (probably a paper gasket), the head gasket goes on top of the cylinder in between cylinder and head (usually a metal gasket).
@@nickjohnson7841 Also , depends on the kit if they're pre gapped. Some kits will include a sheet of paper saying they're pre gapped or not but if there is no sign that they are or not it's always a good idea to double check that theyre gapped right. I've had a kit that was way off and I had to change to gaps big time.
my original cylinder was smoked so i just threw in a 450 bb and i threw in shims that where .05mm bigger thing rips but its not as responsive and i would like any ideals on what may cause some throttle lag? almost like im in to high of a gear when i up shift from full throttle.
This is the one i bought at the time since i was balling on a budget - www.ebay.com/itm/Arctic-Cat-DVX-400-434cc-Big-Bore-Cylinder-Piston-Gasket-Top-End-Kit-3402-844/283746206988
To be honest I was really broke when I bought it so I think it was not even branded but so far its held up to massive amount of abuse. And I'm currently running stock cams but would like to run hot cams eventually.
I don't think I showed any of the timing , i think i stopped after i got the big bore kit installed. I do believe there are great videos on youtube showing how to time them.
Bought a signa jet kit , but my needle needle ALOT of spacers. www.ebay.com/itm/Arctic-Cat-DVX400-DVX-400-400cc-6-Sigma-Custom-Carburetor-Carb-Stage-1-3-Jet-Kit/332160081271?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
@@dbaKen yo I haven’t rode my bike since, but went back out today and it started up and started smoking. But the dude that added my big bore didn’t add the new head gasket. Think that’s why it smokes?
www.ebay.com/itm/283746206988. I've never had a problem out of these kits and I've beaten the piss out of some of these kits and not even a leak or tick!
@@dbaKen i seen a kit uses same namura piston without extra plug n filter for 150$ i have in mine now a sleeved wisco kit n it lasted 3 yrs blown head gasket now.b
@@dbaKen yeah I guess I'm gonna wait till my tax refund and spend the big bucks but I've been thinking about those cheaper ones wondering if anyone has had any luck. I commute on my drz so I probably shouldn't cheap out
@@dbaKen ok that's what I figured you would say. Lol I was hoping you would say don't worry namura last for ever thanks brother I'll subscribe for the reply
