Thesaurus' "eye exam / vendiagram" bar was absolutely bonkers. Best bar of the battle for me. Lu's best was the "died at 33" scheme. So dope.. but funny how if you listen back that scheme was very similar to Thesaurus' style and structure. The culture won.

@@darnarxz That's your opinion, I repsect that.. still I don't pay attention to crowd reaction honestly. Been watching battles for too long for that to sway me. In my opinion, the whole rhyme scheme that led up to the "died at 33" punch and the way it was structured, written and delivered was Lu's best material.

Just because the scheme was somewhat reminiscent of Illmac's style doesn't mean it wasn't reminiscent of Thesaurus'. It was reminiscent of both.. But the reason I mentioned the Thesaurus similarities is because he was saying it to Thesaurus. Also referring to Thesaurus' style as 'A-B-A-B' ...😬...

Let’s not forget that the entire “died at 33” scheme was prefaced by Lu discrediting Thesaurus’ style with multis. He literally proved that he could do the same thing better.

Great battle. Wish lu didn't choke, but his material is still outstanding as usual. Severely underrated and I think everyone there knows that, including himself. If he can fine tune his performance and consistency, not many rappers will match his tier. Sarus...legend. Foreal, seamlessly transitioned to this written format years ago. And even now that the meta has changed he's STILL relevant and again has adapted flawlessly.

Loved The Saurus' closer on his first, the Top Boy Dushane reference. Lu started slow but his second round was awesome. He stepped it right up. Although The Saurus won overall. Much more consistent performance.

probably the most perfectly matched opponents.... but i feel too lazy / not enough stakes for them to really try. thesaurus holds up super well. his 2nd was rly nice. i'd say about as even as it gets, no winner. i however really much prefer thesaurus trying hard over lu's relaxed, at times nervous form.
