FANTASTIC STORY! I'm very happy for you. I too met my second wife and kids that I love so dearly. She was once like you. Now she's the world to me. Her children are the love of my life. There's so many hmong women who are mentally and physically abuse by these chump hmong men. The saying "bare the suffering and abuse won't kill you" is such BS in hmong culture. I'm glad you have a good life with a good husband. You deserve it and I'm proud of your husband. You were fortunate to have met him and he's lucky to have you in his life. I was 16 too when I got married to an abuser and the best thing I did was left before I had any kids. I met my husband through my FIL too and my husband loves me wholeheartedly. My FIL now had pass and we are so grateful for him that we have each other.

Wow what a great story, there's angels on earth indeed. I have to say it was difficult to listen about the torture at first and I was super 😡😡at the parents when she tried to ask them for help. Thank goodness the dad did the right thing by calling the police after she went to their house seeing the abuse on her. No one deserves to be tortured like her. I'm glad she got out of the situation and found someone who loves and cherishes her. The ex is a loser and I don't feel bad for him one bit, no one wants to be with an abuser.
Good people always get 2nd chance sister, see with my own eyes I been in your shoes once I was married for 21.5 years with my ex husband so much abuse and pain so I left him. I found the love of my life 2nd time around so loving and caring person just like your husband also even it's been 3 yrs now since I left him he hasn't yet gotten married with the way he is towards me no women out there is going to marry him maybe just using him for benefits.
I'm lost for words. Shame on those females whom he brought home & just stood there & watched her get beat up. Literally, you're watching your future right in front of you. Smfh. Your story is one of the many stories of our Hmong sisters being forced into under age marriage and ended up being mentally and physically abused by their husband. As much as you hated your husband for the years long abuse, your parents are to be blamed as well. I’m glad and happy you found someone who love you and cherish you for who you are.

At such a young age, your parents should have let it go and let you continue going on with your life. People dont understand abusive relationship. It's not as easy to leave as we all think it is. It takes time and power to leave. Im glad you were able to leave this relationship. The story hasnt ended yet but i hope this guy is in prison. And cut ties with your parents. I can't believe our Hmong men still do this kind of stuff in the US. These are thing in the past in Laos. Our ladies have to be strong and stand the ground, if you are being abuse just call authorities.
You guys were young and dumb. You didn't even know each other and he said he wasn't ready for marriage, but you still went with him. He felt trap and lashed it out on you and blamed you. What he did was wrong and I'm glad you are able to get out of that abusive marriage and found love again. Moral of the story is stay in school kids and don't get married when you are 16 to a boy you just met.
I agree! Even 19-25 is still too young to get married. Hmong people need to stop encouraging their children to get married at a young age. My 2 kids are 19 and 17 and to me, they are still children. I tell my adult kids that they are not ready for marriage until they are able to live on their own.

Your ex being abusive to you doesn't mean he will be abusive towards everyone. I've learned that people are nice to the ones they like and abuse the ones they don't like. Your ex couldn't find a wife is not because he's mean and abusive to you, it's not because of your "curse", it's because he's poor. We all know women like money (money is a girl's best friend) so no woman wants a poor man. As we all know, even laib has laib friends who they care and love... even risks their lives for. So to say your ex can't get a wife because he's mean and abusive is incorrect. Abusive towards you, yes, abusive to the one he likes, no. As for you, the woman in this story, you're a woman so of course it's easy for you to get a husband because (1) You were born with something all men want and (2) women don't need money to "buy" a husband. Men do. 5k to 10k for a wife, plus you need a house, car, $ or she wouldn't even give you the time of day. Your ex's girlfriends keeps on leaving him after a few days of knowing him is because once they know he's poor, they no longer want him. This is why when Hmong Americans go to Laos to marry a teen bride or teen husband, Hmong Americans need to shower her with gifts and cash, buy motorcycle for her and land, house, motorcycle, rice paddy, monthly $ to her parents to get the teen bride/groom to marry the Hmong American. If you're not handsome, if you're not rich, no women would want you. But for women, they have something all men want so even if they're poor, men still work their ass off to buy her.
If you're a teenager that live between 1980-1995, most likely this is also your story. OG's has very strict rules back then. Many of my friends are forced to married similar to this story.
Sad but true. So many headaches, heartaches, divorces and unnecessary deaths could have been prevented if the parents would just relax and support their kids.

Glad you got out of the abusive marriage. Your first husband is not a 100% person and was naturally born that way. He couldn't get a wife for a long time because he treated all women the same.
