The only time it has ever paused due to low GPS signal was directly under a tree and that was only during mapping with me standing close behind so I could have been blocking as well, I've never seen it pause when it was actually mowing. Maybe there's more of a tolerance?
Another nice vid. I got mine setup this past weekend. My yard has big hills and thick grass. The Luba was stopping a lot because of the sensors so I set it to setting 1 instead of the default 2. It does a lot better.
Your explanation and time lapse footage is awesome! I hope someone goes the other way and makes a gas powered autonomous mower that fills itself with fuel and has a generator or alternator installed that power a "shock" protection device for itself. I will let myself out.....
They're definitely is gas powered versions, there's a company that makes remote controlled ones for steep and hard to get to areas, there's another company that makes autonomous zero-turn gas mowers. You set up your boundary and your no-go areas just like luba and then you get out of the driver's seat and tell it to go and it finishes but it's literally a full size zero turn gas
@@Crazypostman I will have to try on my own, with the flywheel, razor blades and gps tracking features but a model airplane gas motor and a reducing gear box. So all autonomous without the quiet...😅
Thanks for the great content. BEST yet, really demonstrates the capabilities. Apparently you can program it to cut stripes/angles. You should try that, really kick things up in Dad's neighborhood. I had to mow manually for the first time yesterday. I hope Mammotion comes through soon and starts shipping. I'll be very disappointed if it gets into late May and they haven't delivered.
Great content! Can you go into more detail and check if Luba damages the grass (especially when it's wet) because of the way luba is turning? (I know it's not that noticeable in your garden/grass, but it would still be super interesting) Thanks :)
@@Crazypostman Damage in front of the charging station can be avoided with some sort of platform placed at that spot. However, what about when it is mowing an area you assigned it to mow ? Is that a problem also ... or minor ?
@Crazypostman Thank you for sharing. I'm curious if this is the Luba 5000? I noticed the max lawn size for it says 5000m², or 1.236 acres. You had mentioned the yard is ~3 acres. Is it able to cover the whole yard by utilizing multiple zones, or how exactly does that part work?
I have a different model than the ones currently on sale but It looks to be equivalent to the 5,000 I'm not sure how they decide max size because it can do 5000m2 in 24 hours so it should be able to do seven times that much if it ran 24/7...
Thanks for the video. The dog is great :) Mine is very protective with robots, and she attacks our Xiaomi vacuum robot, I hope it will be fine with the Luba or at least scared of it :D.
I have lots of robots he's very used to them! I have robot vacuums, The little Amazon robot that drives around your house, and I've had a robot lawn mower in the backyard for 5 years now! He ignores them all 😂
Wanted this until I saw the dirt circle it created in front of it's charging station. Yours is visible and you haven't ran it in 2 weeks. That's too bad. Hopefully they push an update, then I'd consider buying it
It doesn't have to have direct line of sight, It's a 900 megahertz signal between the mower and the RTK unit, It will go through some walls. But you do want the RTK unit with a full view of the sky for good satellite reception
They have not contacted me over the subject yet. Video is still up. I don't respond well to threats. I don't think they would threaten me. But if they asked me politely I would consider deleting it since they deleted their version. Everybody makes mistakes.

Thanks for the video! I am looking for a new robot lawnmower, however I need good obstacle avoidance, with Luba I am a bit worried, because it doesn't have a camera, just ultrasound sensors. Our dog and kids sometimes leave a blanket on the grass.. Is it capable of detecting the blanket and not running over it? I read on their website that it can avoid obstacles of min 5cm in height, however in one of their videos they show it going around a blanket. Otherwise it seems solid, two cutting discs, AWD, that's better than competition.
I don't think it would avoid something low to the ground like a blanket but it certainly would avoid anything that's sitting up like balls chairs children dogs

@@Crazypostman thank you, I originally was set on the new Ecoflow Blade, but I don't like the design of front wheels, making it more prone to getting stuck. My lawn is quite uneven with bumps and dips so I think the AWD on Luba would do a better job. I will have to consider pros and cons of both and decide for one of those. Another slight problem with Luba is that they don't officially ship to my country, so I would either have to wait longer or get it through some unofficial route.
Its a rural area not many knuckleheads around. Not that a thief would know this but it would be useless if somebody stole it it wouldn't work anywhere else.
Great video to show the Luba’s capabilities. I am curious how the mower does when the trees have leaves (meaning, is there a degradation in RTK performance?). But you have a pretty wide open sky, so perhaps it won’t be an issue for you. I have more suburban view of the sky with house a tree blockage.
I don't have any RTK problems so far. If it does lose connection to GPS luba just stops where it's at until it gets more satellites. That's on the mower side. I haven't had any problems with the RTK 900mhz part even in the very back part of the yard and not in line of sight.
@@Crazypostman what’s it using for 900 hmm communications? Is the Bluetooth, Zigbee, or some other protocol? Do you get live mower location updates when you not within Bluetooth or home WiFi range? Like at your home instead of your dad’s where it’s mowing?
@@daniellevine5859 That's one of the things I do not like about the luba If you're not within Bluetooth range you have no connection to the mower. You can't see notifications You can't start or stop or anything. As for the RTKs 900 MHz portion of the signal, I would assume they're using the standard method instead of something proprietary but I don't know for sure. RTK has been around for decades. It would be a digital signal that has error correction not sure the exact protocol, so it's possible for it to reach several kilometers Maybe even 10 or 20 if it has line of sight 😂
@@jpwak1 Maybe I will test this just for fun to see how far I can go, I certainly don't have any problems on my three acres even way in the back out of line of sight. I'm just going to start driving it down the street and see how far it'll go 🤣
Crazy, thanks for this update. Was just wondering when you'd do another one. Looks like two deal breakers for me. 1) can't cut a thin tall weed and 2) gets stuck often with small twigs. Will you be able to d/l a manual on-line to adjust the sensitivity for those sensors?
I've been told there's a way to adjust the anti-collision sensors to be less sensitive. Won't really be a problem once it starts mowing twice a week everywhere. Just got to get the dang internet company to bury that stupid line!
Since the mowers 45 mi away from me it's hard to get over there and fiddle with it, and there is exactly 0% chance of my dad being able to figure it out 😂
@@Crazypostman Perhaps a video chat with your Dad if the Luba stops for some reason. He could point his phone at the Luba and you could walk him through what to do?
