NGL, I wasn’t expecting to see Mewtwo in this episode, the OG one at that! I was genuinely surprised once it revealed itself. Plus, that battle Mewtwo had with Ash and Goh was one of the best highlights of Journeys I’ve seen!
Fun fact: in this episode Mewtwo is voiced by Dan Green who was the voice of Mewtwo in Mewtwo Returns and Mewtwo Strikes Back EVOLUTION! Love the voice continuity as it is the same Mewtwo!
@@michealspear3130 it is! Though he's not the original voice from the first movie, the original VA never came back after that movie so Dan Green took over and has voiced Mewtwo ever since.

@@SilverSupernova6 yup! All the movies before 20th movie with AU Ash are most certainly canon although Black and White are confusing because the series had two of the same movies. I kinda see why that happened.
I'll clarify that Ash does remember Mewtwo from Mewtwo Returns, because his memory was wiped along with everyone else after Mewtwo Strikes Back, but it was left intact after Mewtwo Returns.
When Ash and Goh where saying goodbye. It almost made me cry, because Ash was Goh’s first friend. So I do understand his pov. But at the same time you have to move on. 😭
@@Scorpion19588 I mean sort of, but the "right circumstances" involve the assistance of the mythical Pokemon it was cloned from, lol. So your odds are pretty slim.
@@LucianDevine the odds of beating Shinryu are non-existent he's way too overpowered and fast. The same can be said for with Omega with the one exception being FF8 in which when you fight it and have Selphie there is an extremely slim chance of beating it by pulling The End with her limit break. That's the only way I've seen of beating Omega.
Mewtwo here is that Level 100 superboss in a Final Fantasy game that you ain't got a prayer against if you don't max out your team and have the PERFECT strategy. Gotta love it 😎
when I first saw this episode I was like "OH MY GOD IT'S MEWTWO, WE HAVEN'T SEEN MEWTWO SINCE "POKEMON: THE FIRST MOVIE" AND THAT CAME OUT 25 YEARS AGO, POKEMON HAS COME A LONG WAY SINCE THEN
In the special Mewtwo Returns, in the end Mewtwo allowed the clone Pokemon to go where they want and decided that they didn't need to be kept seperated from normal Pokemon. Since he relized that they aren't as different afterall, since the healingpower of lake water worked on him the same way it works on every other Pokemon. I bet Pikatwo (Pikachus clone) is really happy about that, it was dreaming of exploring the world and seeing more places and was sad that it couldn't live like none-clone Pokemon, since Mewtwo thought that he needs to keep them seperated in order to protect them.
@@Captain_Chaz86 No they didn't xD Also the clone of Ashs Pikachu has the black downward-facing spikes on his ears, so yeah Captain Pikachu doesn't have them xD
Wish they did more with Mewtwo here than just having it only appear for fanservice in this episode. It would've fit in with Project Mew. Heck, there's a lot they could've done with Project Mew that they missed out on, like Jessie's mother.
Considering Lucario performance on the Master 8, I wonder he would've put a better fight using his Aura Bond abilities. Though it was a great way of showing Mewtwo overwhelming power.
@@British_Rogue Considering that in the anime type advantage and disadvantage rarely are applied then yeah, I think Lucario can do better even if he doesn't win.
I wish Goh didn’t catch Grookey and abandon all thoughts of Cinderace. Straight up DESERTED them. One minute they are partners for life, the next minute they got replaced… Sry for the rant
Probably wouldn’t make much of a difference. They make most of the legendaries way too OP in the anime It could just aura sphere the dark types if it wanted too
In my honest opinion, this is a very interesting scene from the old new Pokémon cartoon series, and I think other Pokémon fans will like it too. 💖💖💖💖💖👍👍👍👍👍🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂 And in this part of the scene, many of my favorite Pokémon appear, none other than Cinderace and Lucario and Mewtwo Pokemon characters too 💖💖💖💖💖👍👍👍👍👍🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
The final battle of ash's journey should be a rematch with Mewtwo. Get all the animation talent they possibly can and give us a final battle worthy of champion ash.

One thing I like to say is I'm not a fan of mewtwo's voice though the voice actor isn't the issue I just don't like the quality of the sound I don't quite remember if the Japanese version has this issue 🤔 I definitely like the episode though
@@Syiepherze I think he means how in Pokemon the first movie mewtwo's voice was loud and powerful filled with strength, but in this episode it's basically a mumble in the quality of the sound is very poor you can barely understand him and poorly represents the powerful being he is as a character.
I never tough mewtwo is the one that guards and saves pokemons from bad beings of humans I kinda got that vibe from first serbian uprising on ottoman(turkish) empire once i saw that
