My reason why I ship lucaya: Of course we all know Maya is what they call, *broken*. But what I don't understand how no one can see how broken Lucas is too. He has anger issues so he had to move away from all his friends and family. I don't think he has a dad because he only talks about his mom. I know this was for comedy, but his mom throws him in a shed just for doing one thing. I think Maya knows, yet she excepts it. I think she uses her teasing to cheer him up, while everyone else just sits there when he's sad. She has been to his house so she most likely found out more about his family. And when he's mad she doesn't just pretend like everything is okay. The first time I think she let it happen because she was in shock, but the second time she stepped in there and stopped him. Just like how he stopped her in the same episode. Also some riarkle too. Riley has hugged and said she loved farkle, yet she can barely hold lucas' hand.

The thing that still gets me so mad is that they made maya believe that she only liked lucas because she was being like riley or trying to protect her but that's bullshit. Just because maya isn't being bad doesn't mean she turned to riley. Maya fell for lucas, and lucas is so similar to riley because he's nice and respectful and doesnt cause trouble. When you fall for someone you start to develop their traits and that's why maya stopped getting into trouble. Another thing, riley just wanted the fairytale version of lucas. The worthy and nice part of him. Not the part he's insecure about like his anger issues. Riley makes him feel bad for having anger issues and tells him that she doesn't like it. While MAYA is the one who accepts every part of him and especially his angry part, she admires it. Maya is broken and she needs lucas to fix her. Besides rucus is just a highschool type of love and that never lasts but lucaya was much deeper and much more mature. I'll leave this with a quote : If you love two people at the same time, choose the second, because if u really loved the first, you wouldn't have fallen for the second. Maya was the second.

What if lucas stepped back I mean as soon as Josh came he gave up hope. He saw that she still liked him. When he walked into the classroom he smiled, not because he's happy about the triangle ending, but because he saw maya happy, and he knows how broken she is. He.gave.up. She didn't get to smile around him because Riley would get too jelly. That way no one would get hurt, just maya did when she stepped back. I don't know and I don't care, this is isn't my favorite ship, but I can still think of so many reasons why they should happen. Reason number 1 Rucas is pucas.

Everyone I just found out some news! I read that the writers confirmed that Lucas chose Maya when they were all sat at the bay window! It was confirmed that he chose Maya! Boom he did have feelings for her!

First of all Maya saw him first on the subway. Even though she pushed Riley into him, she saw him first. Throat every season my his heart was slowly breaking into millions of pieces. She tried to follow her heart but every time she tried to pick up the pieces of her heart and follow them it would lead her back to Lucas which made for a lie hurt. Maya cannot stand the thought of hurting Riley, so she backed off, and in the ski lodge episode Lucas would not have left Maya if she hadn't told him to, once again Maya put her feelings aside for Riley and if they made another season Maya would be completely and utterly broken because she lost the person that she loved so her best friend would be happy.

It bothers me so much that the writers destroyed all of Maya's development just bc they wanted Lucas to be with Riley, so they needed her out of the equation (let's be honest, Lucaya's chemistry was undeniable). They wanted us to buy that Maya was now “good” bc she was actually behaving like Riley all the time. It felt so forced. It would even have been better if Lucas hadn't chosen anyone. Well done, Disney.

3:58 this is exactly where the story went bad. When I was young I used to mess with people just like Maya did, but fortunatly I grew up. When I first saw this show I saw Maya changing, but I never found it wrong, I always thought that the writers made Maya change bcs she was growing up. That made me love Maya bcs I identifyed with her. Then I was shook when they made up that story that she was becoming Riley, and worse, JUST to see if Lucas was right for her. I cannot think of anyone with a sane mind doing that, even for their best friend. And plus, the person who makes Maya think that she is becoming Riley just for growing up IS RILEY, HER BEST FRIEND. And the person that convences Maya that she did that for Riley IS JOSH, Josh is a secondary caracther who barely appears in the show. I feel like sometimes the writers forget that Maya is a human being with a mind and a heart, she needs to decide her life and not follow what the others want her to be. If the show tells us that people change people, why cant Maya change? Honestly they just ruined the most interesting caracther of the show...

Can I just say that the show should definitely not be the son and daughter of topanga and Corey and instead maya should be, she can relate to a lot of people that go through rough times and Riley has a pretty miss perfect life.. when they were in a love triangle you could tell there was more chemistry with maya and Lucas when they almost kissed at the campfire while 2 or 3 other times Riley just did a quick pucker to Lucas and just left, there was no connection at all.. the only problem Riley went through was about 2 episodes of her getting bullied but throughout the whole show maya was just getting more beaten down.... she is the number one best friend that would do anything for Riley she liked Lucas and she kept that a secret for a couple years where when Riley saw Lucas all she saw were his looks and maya saw a nice guy and she didn’t even say anything about his looks. And all maya does is let Riley get what ever she wants I hate it, and tbh imo at the start of the show I wanted it to be about maya and maya should have Lucas, I hope at least one person agrees and relates to me about this.🤗

No but an honest opinion of mine is that we got to see in boy meets world topanga and cory argue, bicker, grow together and love each other at their best and worst. And I think if girl meets world really wanted to make a lasting impact is that they should have made Lucas and maya the true ending couple. Riley and Lucas were a fantasy and an imitation, a poor one at that, of the thriving relationship of cory and topanga. Furthermore, the show constantly pushes the idea that people change people and the characters continuously try to give maya and as soon as she gets it and tries to be better they shoot her down. So I think what I'm tryna say is who wants to build a time machine and reverse this horrible ending.

I never thought there was a real villain in this series ,,, but now I feel like it’s Riley . How come she gets EVERYTHING ? A beautiful house, perfect family , amazing little brother,, everyone loves her . She gets everything in this series and when she DOESNT get wat she wants , she tells maya that she’s mentally becoming Riley . To me that’s bs cus like maya said “you have to show me more than a boy to prove I’m not me “ and when maya was saying this, Riley was like blah blah blah cause she couldn’t except that she really had feelings for Lucas . And before that maya sounded like she was at her breaking point , she sounded depressed , like she was going to cry if someone told her something bad , like when she asks Riley “now that I hear you say it, do you think I’ve been selfish? I don’t want you to think that of me”. Maya holds on because riley is all she has but Riley has everything even maya so since she’s so spoiled she can’t let her best friend who deserves happiness be with Lucas . I truly don’t think she even really wants Lucas , I think she just wants to be with him just for the looks. While maya just needs something to hold onto . Disney I asked for one thing ! And that was for maya to get her happy ending for once. Riley and maya are great best friends but maya gave up on hope, then she got it back, and as soon as she got it back, Riley seemed to crush it . Disney fix this !

This. This is my argument for Lucaya and for Maya being the better fit for him. Also I don't know if it's just me but I've been watching all these scenes from the show, and it's so frustrating. Disney was so stingy with giving us any actual natural heart to heart interaction between either of the ships in the relationship aspect even while placing so much time and drama and effort around creating and sustaining them. It's really frustrating and unsatisfying and when they try to conclude it it just makes it worse because it's so swift and it doesn't feel right. And then they cancelled the show and we'll never know what happens or see it get better. I love this show but also I hate disney because this is a frequent pattern of action for them.
