After a year out, we are back with the Remember The Name Series! We shine the spotlight on 18-year-old Lucas Berti Newman, who recently helped Bristol Bears' u18s to the Premiership Academy trophy in February. Plying his trade at centre, Lucas moved overseas from Newbridge College in Ireland, where he was instrumental in the school's push towards the 2020 Leinster Senior Cup Final.
What makes Berti Newman rare is his ability to beat defenders with his quick feet, as well as his exceptional offloading skills and pace. Keep an eye out for his brave defending, despite his unorthodox size for a centre.
