I had to post this after witnessing one of the best bands ever, dead kennedys with one of the best franchises ever, scott pilgrim!!! There's also United States of Whatever
I’m a little curious why the cops not arrested them yet but then I realized the cops in this universe also didn’t bother try to arrested suspect of murder case either.
I would like to note the Chris Evans' contribution to Lucas Lee is insane. In the Comics, Lucas lee had the least amount of Characterisation and Chris Evans' Smug version of Lucas was legitemately an amazing take as he added so much character to Lucas during the Movie and they obviously extended that in the series.
@@cdubsb3831 Man was barely in the Comic and died after the 2nd scene he was introduced. His only contribution was explaining the league and then chilling with Scott for little while and then dying.
@@overscoresam948 and he shows more dynamic personality traits there than the twins analyzing Scott, Matthew having very little to do, and arguably Roxie. I would put him up there with Todd.
One thing I really like about the series is how much they show just how nuts the world of Scott pilgrim is, like the movie and the comics give us a taste but the series turns it up to 11
@@whokaresthough4039 No, Edgar Wright only served as executive producer and his input is probably only so much as to help shape Bryan's writing and sense of direction for the series. The storyboard is done by the episode director Akitoshi Yokoyama at Science Saru.
@@ajeshtantri9816 So you're gonna next tell me each of the ninjas were hand drawn and animated and not copy pasted xD sounds like someone else doesnt know shit about shit.
Reasons Lucas Lee is my favorite character: 1. Voiced by Chris Evans 2. Genuinely a badass 3. Genuinely a good guy (with flaws) 4. Every scene he is in is entertaining never a dull moment. 5. Absolutely hilarious 6. Can’t get enough!!!
Everyone involved in the animation did such a good job, definetly one of the best animated shows of this year, and not only because of the animation because everything else was also top notch, I loved how the exes had more screen time and development :)
@@SketchfanDidn't that mid-2000s singer Jesse McCarthy or whatever his name was voice a character in Bleach? Edit: Nvm, he was Roxas in Kingdom Hearts, don't know who I was thinking of in Bleach.
@@SteinarrBattlefistI mean.... Hollows->heartless Arrancars->nobodies Aizen->Xehanort Ichigo, Zangetsu, White->Sora, Roxas, Vanitas Kaen-Ventus Bit of a stretch
@@Kronalord80jihjhl No you're right, they worked with the english audio, the writing was done in english and the show runners were English speaking so technically the dub is the Japanese audio.
I think I am befuddled by the existence of a ninja paparazzi army than the sheer awesome this Lee skater showed... especially when the ninjas won through attrition and ninja craziness!!!!!
Same! I popped the moment I heard the opening chords to "Police Truck". Of all the gaming references, a Tony Hawk's Pro Skater one wasn't on my bingo card, but I'm glad it exists.
@RushWheeler dude go somewhere with your hatin ass. The director never said he was gonna make a adaptation of the comic he definitely said it was to continue the story. You believe the vloggers and bloggers too much.
@@PowerL1N3 it is unfaithful in the sense that it doesn't follow the story of the source material, but it respects its world and characters really well to make a great show.
@RushWheeler ok when did the creator say it was going to be bringing the comic into the big screen. He obviously made a sequel to what was the movie. People like you are just stuck on wanting something done the way you want it instead of appreciating the art itself. If you want it one for one from paper to screen do it yourself.
Captain America in an anime sequence worthy of Gainax (Neon Genesis Evangelion, FLCL and Panty & Stocking) and massive Tony Hawk video game franchise references?? This is how you're supposed to do an anime adaptation of a Western comic book😆😤 Add: Lol, they also used some classic Tony Hawk stock sound effect such as the "smack" at 1:02 and the glass break in Ep. 6 (when the little robot bailed out of Julie house).
I get what you mean but need to pointed out something. 1. This one is made by Science Saru studio that made Devilman Crybaby and Tatami Galaxy not Gainax/Trigger. 2. Gainax nowadays is just an empty shell. Most of people we know immigrated to Trigger and Khara. Actually Trigger already announced sequel of it not so long ago. (Don’t know how they do that but they get the right of PSG back for while)
@@bakacdaz I never said it's being produced by Gainax. I know Science Saru just enough, its founder Masaaki Yuasa is a living legend for the current generation of Japanese animators. Also, he was among the proponents of the "Kaneda School" keyframe style of animation a.k.a the "Trigger Style" by modern account, years before the likes of Yoshinari or Imaishi ever started their animation career. You can say he was on the same level as Kazuya Tsurumaki as far as animation experience and skills go.
@@bakacdaz Also, I'm making all those Gainax references not without any particular reason. The concept art at 0:19 is obviously a nod to Rei's head in The End of Evangelion; The mech at 0:42 made a reference of the similar mech creature design in FLCL and; The way they treated the swarm animation at 0:59 is a subtler reference to similar scenes in Panty & Stocking. I also forgot they made Lucas do the "Giga Drill" special trick as well, minus the classic Tony Hawk sound effect for that tho.
I never get tired of watching this scene. The animation and the choice to play Dead Kennedys 😁 Amazing reference to Tony Hawk's Pro Skater! Even the credits of this episode had a reference to another Tony Hawk game. During the credits it played Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash from Tony Hawk's Underground 2
hearing those first few notes of police truck had me hyped up the same way i heard those first few notes of one wing angel from sephiroth’s reveal trailer for smash
I love how his ending was flipping coffees and shaking that ass, instead of just becoming a pro skater that was obviously his real passion. What a wonderful way to subvert my expectations.
He didn’t, Scott couldn’t beat him in a head on fight in the movie so he played into his ego as being the best skateboarder around and in the comics they didn’t really fight at all, he was the most chill.
I haven't seen Scott Pilgrim Takes Off yet, because I don't have Netflix and I want to watch it legally, and I have to say that this is a really well done scene, especially whith it's camera angles and framing. The music that accompanies the scene is nice too, having that mid to late 2000's skater culture vibe that pairs with Lucas Lee pretty well.
I wasn't originally into the song but after i see how it was use it instantly became my favorite dead kennedys song shit but like i dont ever expect a band like dead kennedys to appear in a anime
Man, as soon as I saw paparazzi getting in Lucas nerves, I said “Lucas vs Paparazzi” and sure enough, couple of seconds later the mortal kombat voice presented the fight, I laughed my ass off. 😂
Best scene in my opinion, even than the whole Scott vs The World, due the sheer hype and cinematic feel of now hard it goes, This is the best version of Lucas Lee
