LUCCI IS GETTING PACKED UP BY LUFFY! l One Piece Episode 1101 Reaction 

I mean yeah Luffy's fight agains Lucci was definitely awesome, but I just don't understand why they made him go gear 5th. Luffy could have very, and I do mean VERY easily thrashed Lucci into the ground without using gear 5th. Using gear 2nd in combination with advanced haki would have been FAR more than sufficient to get the job done. I mean seriously, what was the point in Luffy undergoing that entire training arch in Wano to learn how to use ryou if he's not going to use it in fights like this? Gear 5th was insanely overkill for this fight, and it left Luffy in a very vulnerable state after using it. He was always very reserved about using gear 4th in the past for that very same reason. Of course the steaks for the straw hats are not quite as high here given that they're not fighting against foes that are arguably out of their league in this fight by any means, but all the same, it's not like Luffy to throw caution to the wind just to goof around in a fight. He may be a goofball with and without gear 5th, but when it comes to fighting, he one of the sharpest guys around. I just don't get it.
