I'm a truck driver going all across the country continually. I do not have a television (like many drivers do), but I do have my phone. I frequently look at You Tube when I do my down time after I finish driving for the day. What I am finding out is that I get a front seat to wonderful, wonderful performances like this before I sleep (and then get up and do it all over again). These two wonderful individuals just gave a first class beautiful musical experience to me and all of those individuals who love this type of music. Although I love all kinds of music, this type of music has a special place in my heart because it seems to always come across to me as organically natural. You two did a masterful job with this piece of music. Thank you very much for posting this performance.
Weston Knight, I too am on the road. Tho probably not as much as yourself. I love Bossa Nova and the people who share their talents when they perform with that beautiful music. Being the music lover here, all sorts by the way. Nothing is more soothing than Bossa Nova. I think God gave a special place for his secret passion when it came to the Bossa Nova. And here we are totally enjoying it. Be safe on the road. The music will always be with you my friend. As it is with me.
I couldn't express it any better. You sound like a gentleman of great musical taste. This performance stirs my soul, especially in these worrisome times
This is so beautiful!!❤I never heard Luiz Bonfa's Manha de Carrnavel arranged and played like this!! Thank you Luciana and Quito!! You are Wonderfully Blessed with Amazing Passion and Talent. BRAVO, BRAVO, BRAVO👋
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
People often talk about the rabbit holes that social media sites are prone towards leading their users into. If the RU-vid rabbit hole algorithms are suggesting that I ought to explore beautiful music like this, then huge kudos to those algorithms. This is such a joy to listen to. 🍂
Yes, agreed, but do not confuse things. Algorithms are systems designed by the Evil and do NOT have your good at heart. They are all part of a huge J machine, designed to dominate the people of the Earth.
From an imagined past, this lovely approach to a very beautiful modern Brazilian song is stunning, an example of artistic concept to challenge while pleasing. The use of an archaic instrument shows us all that the past , made relevant and comprehensible, is beautifully relevant. Classic in sound, a touch of the old, it is fresh here, new, good.
Thank you Luciana & Quito for this wonderful video. Luis Bonfa will be very proud of your rendition of his song. God bless you both & best wishes from Australia 🇦🇺
Beautiful voice - love the viola da gamba as bass and the guitarist's tone is a joy I remember seeing the movie 'Black Orfeus' in the 60s and this beautiful melody has been with me ever since
I like how this piece was sung and played. Absolute peace when listening to the nice pure voice accompanied by bass played in a simple but effective pattern. This way the voice melody and the bass complimented each other. The guitar was also high class and fresh in its improvisation and was played in a calm manner. The setting behind is also beautiful and serene, i believe is a church. It is debatable whether a more formal dress will add to the elegance of the video. But overall this is a remarkable performance. Bravo.
WOW! Just when you think you’ve heard all the great interpretations of that classic Brazilian song, along comes a whole new construct with a gamba, a guitar, and a soprano. The only voice among the 3 touching the melody is the soprano. That was simple yet spectacular! Perfection. Thank you!
Finally, a gorgeous connexion between a classical guitar and a viola da gamba. This connexion, which is natural and physical, tends to be negated both by the gambists, but particularly by the lutenists and the classical guitarists in competition for a theoretical, but not real, philology.
Excelente
Wonderful! The viol perfectly fits this music, although it was created 200 years after this instrument came out of fashion. It is a rare talent for a viol player to both sing beautifully and even maanage it while simultaneously playing the viol.

Tão 'Vunita Mañana'! Abraço Luciana&Quito. Grata pela mágica e originalidade! Vocês São Lindos. Bem Hajam!
Beautiful! I play this tune, and have heard so many other people play it, and the thing is: everybody plays it a little differently. Everybody seems to find something in it that's special to themselves. I really love what you found in it.
I ADORE the Viola de Gamba. What a beautiful sound - I don't understand why it's so seldom played nowadays - as though it's inferior to the cello or the viola. It isn't inferior in any way - it's just different, with more strings and therefore a greater range than either of it's fretless cousins. It would seem that some sort of prejudice developed against it because it was fretted. But listening to this exquisite music, with the gorgeous voice of Luciana and a guitar with the Viola de Gamba - I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't love this superb instrument as much as I.
Tim Elwell : The biggest issue for orchestral use, in my opinion, is that of using the bow. The gamba fingerboard and bridge have less radius. To illustrate, imagine trying to bow just one string on a guitar, especially a classical guitar with its flat fretboard. Now consider the radius of the violin fingerboard and bridge giving clearance to bow any one string. The gamba lends itself to pizzicato and allegro playing, sustained notes via bowing, not so much.
@@TheWillow34b Not having seen a viola de gamba 'up close and personal' myself, I bow to your superior knowledge. I daresay an experienced instrument maker could do a slight re-design with a greater radius of the fingerboard to enable more ease of bowing. Nevertheless, I am now enamoured of the wonderful instrument.
