MERRY CHRISTMAS 2022 !!!!!!!!!!!!!
It will always be Pavarotti...you just feel his soul beaming out brightly. Such inspiration, sang from the soul, not the ego...I love to hear singers sing from the soul, it becomes rarer
"O Holy Night" (also known as "Cantique de Noël") is a well-known Christmas carol. Originally based on a French-language poem by poet Placide Cappeau, written in 1843, with the first line "Minuit, chrétiens! c'est l'heure solennelle" (Midnight, Christians, is the solemn hour) that composer Adolphe Adam set to music in 1847. The English version is by John Sullivan Dwight.
Stunning performance, the discussion regarding who is best is stupid. This was a beautiful rendition of a favourite piece of music. Why spoil the spirit and soul of it..just listen and enjoy
I think they are similar enough in what they are doing, to say that Pavarotti is much better. Not just better; the best. Maybe there were others who were better in pre-recording history. But he has no modern equal. His sound is open, and effortless. Domingo's is closed, tamped. Compared to Pavarotti, he sounds like a male Sara Brightman, singing with a duck face. Now the Josh Groban vs Michael Buble comparisons, on the other hand, don't work because they are doing different things -- crooner vs classical. Like comparing Andrea Bocelli vs Frank Sinatra. But between these 2, Pavarotti is so much better.
I agree… he is my absolute favorite. Blessed to have met him twice. Once at 12 yrs old at the Met Boston and once in my 40’s at Met bookstore at Lincoln Center for a book/cd signing. Simply charming…
The two greatest tenors of all time delivering together an outstanding phenomenal performance in this classic Christmas carol 😍👌❤️. This what I call heaven on earth ❤️. Their voices are simply astonishing ❤️. No words are capable to describe such power
@@Mikep487 ce n'est que votre avis, et puis à quoi bon, les gouts des uns et des autres .... bien que Luciano soit un des géant de l'histoire du chant, avec un timbre unique.
Placido, my hero. I have had the pleasure of seeing and hearing him 8 times in Covent Garden - always remembered. I also saw Luciano there in Tosca, another great night. Nobody can take those wonderful memories away from me, mine till I go.
Was lucky enough to have seen Pavarotti when I was younger, I still get choked up thinking of how appreciative the audience was of him. Part of his greatness was that the feeling was mutual, he was holding back tears during the standing ovation. I don't believe I'll ever hear such beauty again in my lifetime, I count myself as very lucky to have been in the presence of his vocal talent.
@@jeffryhammel3035 So did I. Absolutely broke the bank the first time, when it was just Pavarotti., well worth it to be in the presence of the Great Man.
How blessed were we to live in a world of great voices, recording, and reproduction? Our generation will never really know how Caruso sounded but every generation from now on will know how Battle, Callas, Carreras, Corelli, Domingo, Fleming, Horne, Kraus, Lanza, Milner, Moffo, Norman, Melchior, Pavarotti, Pierce, Pinza, Price, Siepi, Sills, Sutherland, Tercel, Treigle, Troyanos, Tucker, von Stade, just to mention a few of my favorites, sounded. I got to hear Battle, Corelli, Horne, Kraus, Pavarotti, Price, Siepi, Sills, Sutherland, and Treigle live; that would be enough for a lifetime. However, I know what all the others sounded like; how lucky am I? How lucky are you? How lucky are we? Ain't technology grand?
I think everyone's favourite hymn. May God be praised by it everytime it is sung. May the peace of the Christ Child flow on this sorrowful world at this time.
I remember Pavorotti singing La Donna E Mobile by Verdi. He was in the opera in the star role in Rigaleto.I saw it on Iowa Public television R.I.P. and you will always have a special place in our hearts
This beautiful song of worship is worthy of great singers, magnificent orchestra and large choir. The words move me to tears everytime I hear it. Thank you, Jesus.
I would like to say that I am thankful for the gift of the 3 tenors. When I am looking at the world right now I miss people like them. I miss the deepness of love, understanding and feeling. THEY got the gift to have a great and wonderful voice. May God give us more from personalities like them - because we need them now more than ever. God bless you.
Holly Night is my favorite song They are Alchemists of Holly Night. Their songs are beyond description, off the charts, and full of tribute and emotion, and comfortable to the ear , the mind and the soul Listening to HollyNight again and again, I feel as if I am a witness to the birth of Jesus Christ, and my philanthropic spirit and my compassion for the weak grow stronger I know it's a early time, but I say 🎀 Merry Christmas ㊗️メリークリスマス
Two of my best singing teachers singing together...I wish I can have a good voice when I grow old, like they have..Today I was singing this in my new High C version.. I will put it on youtube, if God will...I play the piano, (I recorded it , I only found a karaoke version lower...) Merry Christmas....God bless you in Heaven, Pavarotti.(Lets hope that Domingo will stay here for many years, and TEACH many singers....I would be glad to be one of them.) I sang Di quella pira FOUR times on youtube .
It's is a blessing from God that these truly gifted men were put on this earth to give heaven a voice to us. Rest in peace Mr. Poverati. You treasure lives on in us all.
We have been truly blessed to have so many outstanding tenors in our generation. This recording of 'O Holy Night' is a gift that will be heard for countless years as one of the finest performances ever of this beloved Christmas hymn. Pavarotti died in 2007, but he lives forever through his magnificent voice. He now sings with choirs of angels in everlasting Joy.
A rare treat to hear this song by 2 of the World's most outstanding singers. I shall not forget hearing each of you singing at your finest. a most thrilling experience.
How very fortunate we were then to have had two such glorious tenor voices offering up so many memorable nights in the opera houses of the world at the same time...
