I'm sitting at the computer with a terribly messed up shoulder, still in pain after surgery 7weeks ago. But listening to this spirited singing by the GREAT LUCIANO has soothed my pain. He was more than one of the great tenors of all time. He was a unique human being, with a zest for life that shines through in everything he ever sang on stage or said in interviews. I miss him very much. Thank God he lives on in You Tube clips like this gem, and bravo anche il pianista!

Absolutely great...Pavarotti at his very best! Unique! Gorgeous! What an interpretation...this is unbeatable. Luciano, you will be the greatest tenor forever. Thanks, for all the postings from this wonderful recital in the German TV (NDR)

I know he practiced. Not the same things I would have to practice. Arrigo Pola, knew right away, that this wasn't a talent he had before him. He referred to him as a "supertalent" and taught him for free for the next 3 years. Roberto Alagna, in an interview said the voice of Pavarotti can't be taught, its a gift. I agree he worked very hard, he put a lot into it. This there can be no doubt. His gift though was there from the beginning.

Maravilloso Pavarotti como siempre, el que es de segunda es el pianista, lástima, de todos modos muy bien!

That is true that there is no great singing without voice and the ear, but what comes to my mind about this case is young Caruso who was told that his voice was like a wind howling in the chimney. Franco Corelli who himself said that he started singing as a joke because he did not have good voice. Placido Domingo who was very mediocre baritone as well as Carlo Bergonzi. Pavarotti said that his fathers voice was much better than his. It makes me think that hard work and practice made it possible.

His voice did not crack at 1:03. It's a "mordent" - an ornament often used in music from this period and earlier

not true, what you just saw is not created out of thin air, it is achieved exactly by million hours of practice.

Haha, you just live to argue, don't you? As a 21 year old singer and pianist, I've probably been in more recording studios than you can fathom. What really troubles me is that you assume Pavarotti was totally satisfied with this recording of danza... He cracked! It's a great recording, but he cracked lol get a life! I'm done talking to you.
