Repent and trust in Jesus. We all deserve Hell for our sins, such as lying lusting coveting and more. We can't save ourselves, but Jesus can save us. He died on the cross to save us for our sins and rose from the grave defeating death and Hell. You must put your faith in him only. He is the only way to Heaven. Repent and trust in Jesus. I think he was just very artfully acting out the lyrics. Notice the lyrics are"…. but in the dawn I will win, I will win!"? I think*that's what that expression was meant to portray - the look of ultimate victory after (literal or figurative) night, or suffering, or perhaps darkness, maybe 🤔? Either way it was wonderful and I'm glad we can all appreciate it.

However, I was hoping that you might explain your reference to "listened with the heart," and provide some special psychological insights into the composer, especially since it was Puccini's last opera, and perhaps the significance of the celebrated aria. Most of all, your thoughts why Puccini, despite more than adequate time, was unable to complete the final, great duet at the time of his death to his satisfaction. Cordially, Mr. Jim O'Brien

And yet less than a hundred years ago, opera was very much a performance for the everyday public, not only the elite. My Italian parents were poor as church mice, but would go to the opera while courting. Probably not in the best opera houses and probably not the best seats, but it was far from entertainment for just the "elite". Maybe that was just the Italy of the 50's. This never fails to bring big, wet tears to my eyes. There's nothing like good opera, and no voice could ever again achieve what Pavarotti's did. If I may, with great care, suggest that there be a god of this earth, I believe that he lives in this sound, as he does in the rainbow and the tides.

To be honest he wasn't superb in this perfomance, the real opera is different, Pavarotti singing the real opera is different. Turandot never been the cup of tea of Pavarotti, he didn't have the proper voice to sing it. Franco Corelli was superb. This is a performance for a pop audience, made without proper training etc.., an exibition for those people who love Bocelli and Il Volo, I bet they're shocked by a real opera tenor like Pavarotti.

Unfortunately, we will never hear the likes of this superbly gifted man again. I've seen his concerts, and met him on two occasions. Rest in peace Luciano, you are sorely missed.

Thank you I was looking for a comment like this. It was almost like his life was flashing before his eyes all leading up to this peak of his life, and what a peak it was. It's almost as if he is happy when he closes his eyes its as if all his hard work has paid off and he can relax, but he is still so stunned in the moment. I love that his face tells a lot

I'm right there with you Nathaniel. After experiencing this magnificent performance over and over again, I just wonder by what basis 1100 people would thumb it down. Souless, depraved, ignorant, jealous?? That type of response defies reality.
