@@jakedee4117 ...and mastery of technique, discipline, knowledge of facial musclature, the velum, the hypopharynx, epi- larynx, and the glottis that rock n roll, ballad, jazz, rap and other popular signers just don't have and will never have.
He is indeed a legendary singer with a outstanding voice but he isn't the best but he is a very good second best. Dimash is a more talented singer that can sing perfect live. Has perfect mic/breath control. Sings with emotion and is a story teller. Can switch perfect between 7 octaves. He has is multi talented. He can sing any music genre and can sing in over 15 languages. He plays over 7 instruments and can dance. And he is still only 28.
@@miafranlund6982 : I prefer Jussi, Luciano was a magnificent tenor, but there was just something magical about Bjorling, crystal clarity, vibrancy and tone!
Well I am from Germany, one of my best friends is from Modena. He invited me 15 yrs ago to come and see Pavarotti. I ddnt go since my football team played that weekend. Today I like to slap my younger seöf for that
I dont think he was that calculating. In fact I know he wasn't. He sang because it was his passion. And he put his whole heart and soul into it for most of his life. He is honored for that and what he gave so generously to humanity.
This means so much to me personally. This was my Mums favourite song and as I held her hand in the hospital as the passed away this song came on the radio as she left this earth and moved on. Thank you. ❤ Holly Granger xX
What a wonderful story. I should play that for my mom. I've been going to opera since I was about 7, but I play and sing rock and blues on my keyboards
Let me just be clear... the only reason I don't listen to opera more often is because it moves me so deeply I cry and cry. I am convinced that those who "hate" opera are just in denial, and that they don't want to cry either.
Pavarotti is arguably the GREATEST tenor to ever grace a stage. You don’t even know what the lyrics are to know what you’re supposed to feel. If you listen to this and don’t end with chills you have no pulse!
7:39 I have always said it, but when he finishes that brilliant note and gets that look on his face, I swear he saw God in that moment. Every time I see this part it gives me chills, the look of wonder, surprise and almost confusion in his eyes. No one will ever convince me that he didn't see God in that moment. Simply brilliant!
Oh bless. My father was an Australian returned serviceman from world war 2. He was born in 1922 and he adored this version of this song- I have such treasured memories of my Aussie Dadda listening to this Italian music with tears in his eyes 🥺🥺
That man is the only tenor that gives me goosebumps all over me. There is that emotion inside him and in his voice that always resonates. RiP Luciano❤🙏🏻
Magnificent! Many say Pavarotti was the greatest tenor the world has known and Nessun Dorma was his aria. I've seen many others try, but no one has ever been able to match Luciano Pavarotti's power and epic stage presence. His performance here gives everyone chills.❤
I'm proud of you for listening to this Great Man....we were lucky growing up to have so many different genres to listen too.... You're one of the only one to remember that Aretha Franklin sang this because Pavarotti had asked her to do it. I think she had only 30 minutes until she went on.... There is hope for the next generation to hear Great music. I'm subscribing now to your channel!
Nick - if you ever get the chance to study classical voice, Please do ! You have a gorgeous baritone and you’re so musical! Nessun Dorma means “ no one sleeps “ because the Chinese princess will execute the whole town if he doesn’t guess the answers to three riddles correctly. Fairytale! ! I always recommend CARMEN for new opera goers. It’s highly melodic, rhythmical and sexy! You know themes from it- especially the Toreador song. A must watch!!
"Nessun Dorma" is a classic. It is a song I think Luciano Pavarotti put on the map. Once he sang it, then all singers wanted to do it, but no one does it as well as he did. Im glad you did this genre of music as well. Makes me love your channel even more. 👍
@@Spo-Dee-O-Dee I recommend you to watch the three Samoan opera singers who are Sol3 Mio, Pene Pati (also on RU-vid as Darren Pene Pati), Amitai Pati, both tenors, and their cousin Moses Mackay, a baritone. Their families moved to New Zealand and their high school music teacher recognised their talent. They later went to Wales on scholarships and graduated with a Master’s degree in Opera Singing. Dame Malvina Major, the retired NZ soprano, sang with Luciano Pavarotti in London early in his career and is on record saying that she can hear the young Pavarotti in Pene Pati’s voice. The two brothers sing “Nessun Dorma” on the Sol3 Mio channel but it’s just the recording from their album. Pene sings the first half and Amitai the second half. A live version is on their concert DVD. There’s a separate video of Pene singing “Nessun Dorma” and “La donna e mobile” where you can hear why his voice now reminds more than a few of us of Pavarotti. Apart from his opera singing Moses Mackay also composes and sings crossover songs. His newest ones on the Moses Mackay YT channel deserve recognition - “Some Sorta Sensation” and “Embers Of Fire”. The latter song really shows off his operatic talent. They’re from his new album “Grace”. He also plays piano, double bass and guitar. Both the Pati brothers play piano and guitar. They’re introducing a whole new generation to opera which is great to see.
WHen opera singers of Pavarotti's level have a vocally off night they cancel the performance and the audience are fine with it. It's a whole different level of vocal perfectionism.
Indeed, as you said, the VOICE of the Great Master Luciano PAVAROTTI it is "IMMACULATE". This is a LOVE song for a WOMAN ... sung by a MAN in love. The Great Maestro named LUCIANO PAVAROTTI had this incredible ability to touched your SOUL.... using his exceptional VOICE. He usually touched and vibrate the souls of the HUMANS who heard his arias...... and even the ANGELS stopped in fascination just to listen to this miracle voice of a MAN.
Nessun Dorma ( "no one sleeps") is an aria from Puccini's opera "Turandot", sung by all the great ( and near great ) opera stars (male and female)........this is probably the most moving rendition of all....R.I.P., Maestro Pavarotti.......
I'm actually surprised it took you this long to discover Pav! I grew up (I'm not a singer by any means) absolutely LOVING this bloke the the Tenors. Like you said, he is absolutely perfect - you cannot fault him.
I knew someone who was training in voice. He said a major rule is to always stay in character until the music ends (not when you are done singing). He does this to perfection
Watching your eyes with that 2nd replay of the last HIGH note - I could see it reaching into your depths my friend, wow! Thanks for sharing this amazing classic and your honest reaction!
With a full choir and full orchestra, in front of that huge crowd, he is singing UN-AMPLIFIED. The microphones are for recording only they have no speakers attached, now that is power.
Yeah he really lives this song and feels and makes you feel all of this. Pavarotti is incredibly good. Going to the opera, at least once, is great. I'm not really an opera fan, but we went once last year and it was great! The song's title means 'no-one sleeps': the princess ordered the village to remain awake all night to discover the identity of the person Pavarotti is playing. The Charismatic Voice did a great reaction of this performance and goes into great detail about everything. She also said that he had trouble at first, quit for a while before rising to stardom. My vocal coach has me sing an aria for the development of my voice :-)
Nessun dorma! Nessun dorma! Tu pure, oh Principessa Nella tua fredda stanza Guardi le stelle che tremano d'amore E di speranza Ma il mio mistero è chiuso in me Il nome mio nessun saprà No, no, sulla tua bocca lo dirò Quando la luce splenderà Ed il mio bacio scioglierà il silenzio Che ti fa mia Dilegua, oh notte Tramontate, stelle Tramontate, stelle All'alba vincerò Vincerò Vincerò ‐---‐------------------------------------- No sleep! No sleep! You too, oh Princess In your cold room You look at the stars that tremble with love And of hope But my mystery is closed in me My name no one will know No, no, on your lips I will say it When the light will shine And my kiss will dissolve the silence That makes you mine Go away, oh night Go down, stars Go down, stars I'll win at dawn I will win I will win
Thanks for sharing this aria from Turandot. I had the pleasure and privilege to see Pavarotti perform in Sydney many years ago. Real life goose bumps. I’ve been an opera fan ever since.
Yeay! You understand how much work it is to sing opera, and you appreciate this man's expertise and excellence. I saw this reactor who obviously didn't like opera, making fun of it and all, but was crying at that ending by Pavarotti. You looked close to it yourself.
Man, watching you react to his changes was awesome. Your appreciation, and ability to understand the magnificence of he was able to do with his voice was obvious.
I always think there is hope for humanity when I listen to this..That humans can imagine it, write it, produce and sing it...we are capable of great things
I have actually seen The 3 tenors live in concert in Gothenburg in 1996. That was one of the best experiences ever. And I heard the lovely Pavarotti sing Nessun Dorma live. ❤ Pavarotti had the most beautiful and iconic tenor voice of them all. It was (and is) just magical.
I fell in love with this version of the aria, then fell in love with it again when Rob & Austin did their version( which you also reviewed); hope all is going well with you; take care, stay safe , peace & hugs. ❤️❤️🥰🥰🤗🤗☮️☮️🎼🎼
Merci de faire connaître à un nouveau public les émotions de l’opéra. Pavarotti n’est pas seul. Il y a sur les scènes mondiales des chanteurs extraordinaires . Alller les écouter et pas seulement dans Turandot.
This performance was from 1984, The Three Tenors. He last sang it in 2006 at the Winter Olympic Games. He passed away in 2007 from Pancreatic cancer. He is missed.
NO ONE sings this like him. This is HIS song always. Aretha was amazing and came in at a moment’s notice…plus she’s ARETHA!! But he owns this song. He was perfection❤
He sold insurance and was a school teacher in his hometown of Modena, Italy. He studied music for 6 years before singing in public. He also said he suffered from stage fright that never left him. He sang in Central Park in New York before 500,000 people. Not bad for an opera singer.
As others have said this holds memories of others too. My dad passed away a few months ago and he used to be an amateur operatic singer who terrified me as a kid belting this out around the house full throatedly. Brings a tear to my eye. They are expensive things to go watch, and a lot of rich toffs go usually but it’s well worth going in person if ever the opportunity arises to feel the music shaking your whole body not just through headphones.
Pavarotti performed this role in the opera "Turandot" many times. In this concert, at the end of this song when he sings "I will win, I will win, I will win", his facial expressions are part of that role, he is acting. I watch a lot of operas on RU-vid, many with English subtitles so you know what it's about. If you're new to opera, start with the lighter, comical operas like The Barber of Seville (Rossini) or The Marriage of Figaro (Mozart). Carmen is a big fan favorite, also Madame Butterfly and LaTraviata, though all 3 have sad endings.
