Pavarotti is the GREATEST tenor to EVER grace the stage. You don’t need to know what he’s singing to feel what he means. He makes you feel it. If you can listen to this and not get chills you should go to an ER because you have no heart.

Well, Pavarotti died in 2007, so it would be fair to say that he's been the greatest tenor voice of the 21st Century SO FAR. However, if we go back to the 20th Century, when Pav was in his prime, then I'm afraid that I can't agree. Even Pav conceeded that his hero, Jussi Bjorling, was the greatest.

hi, I'm Italian, you need to know the story that this work tells to fully appreciate it, and the deeper meaning that the story teaches, the legend tells of a princess Turandot, daughter of the Chinese emperor, and of a prince who is put before of the riddles, if he solves these riddles he will be able to marry her otherwise he will die, in the song he expresses the hope that he will win the test and be able to kiss her and have her as his wife, the deepest meaning is that in general even when something seems impossible to achieve one must never lose seeing his courage and determination, in the end he shouts that he will win at dawn

Beautiful heartfelt reaction to one of the best tenors ever! Pavaroti was also part of a supergroup called The Three Tenors in the 90's and early 2000's. Along with Pavaroti, was Placido Domingo, and Jose Carreras. Two of their signature songs were Nessun Dorma and O Sole Mio. Another Pavaroti song you'll love is Ave Maria. Also, there's a concert video of he and James Brown performing Brown's song It's a Man's World. It's mind blowing 🤯

As a man who experienced a fairly hard life and a struggle with mental illness I heard this song first after I was healed. With a clear mind and a good outlook on life. I cried to a song with no understanding of what he was saying just pure emotion. I felt like I could understand him. And relate. After getting my myself together I looked up the English translation. At the end the final note is translated to " I WILL WIN". As I read that I started tearing up again. This is the greatest vocal performance in the history of man kind. If I could leave 1 piece of our civilization for someone else to find it would be a recording of this .

Regardless if you are familiar with, a fan (or not) of Opera as a genre, you can still appreciate the natural talent & dedication of this legendary tenor to become one of the best this modern world has ever seen. This was recorded back in 1994 when Luciano was 59 years old. How many modern day pop stars half his age can belt out notes like he did? Sadly, very few these days. This was back before auto tune & done in front of a live audience consisting of over 75,000 people. This is just an aria (solo part) of the opera "Turandot" by Giacomo Puccini, written in 1924 & first performed in 1926. The world lost a tremendous talent when Luciano passed away in 2007. I'm glad that my 2nd favorite tenor, Andrea Bocelli, is still alive & singing his heart out... When I was a kid I didn't like opera much because to my immature & unsophisticated ears, it all just seemed like a bunch of yelling done in singsong form & I couldn't understand the words. It wasn't until I was in my late teens/early 20's when I began to fully appreciate what it took to become a trained classical (aka opera) singer. You don't have to understand the lyrics in order to feel the raw passion behind each performance. Great music & incredible natural talent transcends all languages & ages.

I absolutely loved watching the emotion filling you as you listened to this one. Pavarotti is without a doubt one of the greatest singers of all time. How he wove the story with his voice simply amazes me. And yes, he was able to convey the soul of the music to the listener in such a magical way. Luciano Pavarotti was truly a maestro - the passion and emotion in his voice has been always something magic. And Nessun Dorma is one of the greatest piece of music ever made - sadly Giacomo Puccini never heard it in its finished opera. Both of them were masters and the world lost two beautiful souls

Very few people ever understand what is being said in opera. It must be felt rather than listened to with recognition. If it helps any, this is the love aria from the prince to the princess who doesn’t want him. He is determined to win her hand!
