What a great comment! Be praised that you are one of the few to instinctively plunge into the soul of operatic singing. I hope you can enjoy these emotions throughout your entire life.
One of the best comments I have ever read on RU-vid . It goes to your credit fas a person who has a deep ability to appreciate beauty. Thanks for your comment !! I now believe there is some form of hope in the world.~ ☮️
I'm 59 and my favourite is Lemmy😊 I love Texas Hippie Coalition, Five finger death punch and Volbeat. But since my 20's, I've been addicted to our beloved maestro❤ I could attend 2 of his concerts and I just melted each time🤗
We met Pavarotti in the Rome airport. He was standing by himself apparently waiting for someone and my wife, who cares little for celebrities approached Pavorotti and said how much she loved his music. He bowed, took her hand, kissed it and said, " My dear it gives me great pleasure to sing for you"......
Every human being experiences love, heartache, longing, rejection and pain. Luciano made it possible for millions of people around the world to experience the ecstasy and gripping pain of these emotions. How fortunate we all are in this modern age to enjoy this magnificent performance only available to a wealthy elite in the past. A voice like Luciano's only comes along once in a generation. There are many magnificent, talented opera singers, but his voice had power, depth, and clarity seldom heard. Thanks for sharing with us in this desperate world.
@@solomontruthlover5308 nobody knows for sure. But it’s very rare for a tenor to have such a incredible tone ladder and at the same time sing them with such a volume. On many occasions he just used the acoustics in the theatre or church themselves, with no microphone’s.
The gift is freely given, but without an incredible amount of hard, hard work, the gift dies on the vine. And unlike every other instrument, even ballet dancers, the singer alone is blind….everything is hidden inside the body and must be felt and the muscle action remembered. It is ridiculously hard. That Pavarotti was given the gift is amazing. That he learned how to use it with the precision he achieved is a MIRACLE!
People have no realization of how physical singing is, that it’s as taxing a mechanism as a concerto on any instrument you can think of. And a singer may have the most amazing voice ever and be clueless about how to use it….everything is invisible, because it’s all internal. A singer has to learn to manipulate large process muscles with no visual guide, and then smaller and smaller mechanisms, until tiny muscles in the nasal pharynx can be manipulated to shape and color vowels. And it all has to be connected to moving-but not forcing-the diaphragm, in the same way. A pianist, a violinist, a ballet dancer use their eyes to hone and train the smallest muscles…singing is so much harder than that. Which all goes to show that the gift is given, but is the singer intelligent enough to learn the most complex mechanism of all?? Then there’s musicianship…can the singer learn music theory in order to analyze and realize a 2-3 hour long opera?? Can they learn to phonetically produce the vowel sounds of French, Italian, German, English, Spanish, Russian, while managing that tremendous mechanism? Can they learn to act convincingly to tell some of the most preposterous plots ever?? I mean, come ON!! It’s so very much MORE than the voice!! God has to pack a lot more in that just that!!
There’s Luciano and his superb talent. Then there is the genius of Gaetano Donizetti from whose composer’s pen we have this listener paradise. The great Italian opera composers are unequaled throughout the universe.
We've had great tenors, but Luciano's overtones are as unique as his fingerprints and won't be duplicated. Let's hope his legacy of a naturally placed, fully supported voice rings true in future generations.
I am looking for singing experts who can help me understand my faults .. whoever wants to can listen to me in this aria on my channel ... sorry for the inconvenience im italian
I had a dream since I was small girl to listen to his singing in reality, unfortunately I did not manage to realize it, but mostly thanks to him I started studying Italian language being an university student. A good thing is that his performances were recorded and people who like music can enjoy his miraculous voice.
Pavarotti is the most amazing tenor I have ever heard of. His interpretation of Una furtiva lagrima is outstanding. His singing was the reason why I wanted to learn to sing.
The lyrics, the interpretation in each and every word , i fell blessed it's my mother's tough . Pavarotti was an absolute gift from the gods of music for the world.
Grazie Maestro Pavarotti
Bravo bravo bravo! He was the most magnificent singer of all time, had the most mezmerizing voice bar none and was the most gorgeous and fascinating piece of man to have ever lived!!!

Is there a better way to wait for the new year to arrive than listening to the maestro? A heavenly tonic to wash away the distress and sorrow of wars and natural catastrophes in this past year.
The emotion that he expresses, his phrasing and pronunciation. It is clear that he feels the music deeply. His commanding power and tenderness here are magnificent!
The two greatest voices to ever live. Pavarotti and the great Caruso straight from heaven. It’s to bad that we don’t have high fidelity recordings of Caruso. Unimaginable power but I give the most beautiful tone and timber to the maestro. Pavarotti….😊
I try not to lament the loss of such a talent but remind myself of beauty he left. I don't think I would have stopped applauding if I was in the audience. So beautiful.
I had seen Luciano in La Boheme and la fille de regiment but I was too late purchasing tickets to a concert in Miami. At the last minute we were able to get tickets sitting behind him on stage. The performance was marvelous and when he finished he said to his audience he wanted to sing to his other audience and turned to face the people behind him. Everyone started pleading for their favorite aria as an encore and I said "una furtiva ". He smiled and nodded to the pianist accompanying him and after 2 chords I knew. Pavarotti singing una furtiva 4 feet in front of me. And I knew if my life had ended then it would have ended on a high note.
I palpiti, i palpiti sentir confondere i miei co'suoi sospir! Cielo! Si può morir! Di più non chiedo, non chiedo. Ah, cielo! Si può morir d'amor.
Thank you so much for posting the words. I am listening to this on the train to work and completely enthralled by it and trying to stop myself from singing out loud. Not that I'm a soprano or for that matter Italian 😍
KÖSZÖNÖM MALYTRÓ! DRÁGA PAVAROTTI! MEGTANÚLHATTAM EZT A DALT! HOGY A "KOSZON " KÍVŰL, MÁS IS RAGADHATOTT REÁM! ÁLDOM DRÁGA EMLÉKEDET, MINDÖRÖKKÉ! ÁMEN!
I cannot imagine this man’s vocal cords after such a show. His throat must have been on fire. It pays to drink lots of water after spending this much energy. Who knew mere songs required this much perfection
Pavarotti the master. He had EVERYTHING...looks, stage presence, emotion, beautiful timbre, total control, theatre, sensitivity, power.... really just the best voice ever. He is sublime....untouchable. A once in a life time master. There's a story on here somewhere of a lady in Italy who lived close to Luciano and would hear him practice on his patio I think...ha! luckiest woman!! Wish I'd have seen a performance live...
Exactly! So, I never watched Pavarotti. I only listened. But godamn he's an amazing actor in addition to his beautiful vocals. I quite honestly felt as if I was right there, with him, with every note he sung slightly caressing my heart
Sing along with this Pavarotti's wonderful voice: Italian Text of 'Una Furtiva Lagrima' Una furtiva lagrima negli occhi suoi spuntò: Quelle festose giovani invidiar sembrò. I palpiti, i palpiti sentir, confondere i miei coi suoi sospir... Cielo! Si può morir! Di più non chiedo, non chiedo. Ah, cielo! Si può! Si, può morir! Di più non chiedo, non chiedo. Si può morire! Si può morir d'amor. English Translation of 'Una Furtiva Lagrima' A single secret tear from her eye did spring: as if she envied all the youths that laughingly passed her by. What more searching need I do? What more searching need I do? She loves me! Yes, she loves me, I see it. I see it. For just an instant the beating of her beautiful heart I could feel! As if my sighs were hers, and her sighs were mine! The beating, the beating of her heart I could feel, to merge my sighs with hers... Heavens! Yes, I could die! I could ask for nothing more, nothing more. Oh, heavens! Yes, I could, I could die! I could ask for nothing more, nothing more. Yes, I could die! Yes, I could die of love.
