I love the epic synth solo, when i went to see them recently in manchester it was just one massive rave in the pit, probably the best moment of any gig iv been to
moments like these is why certain bands are amazing to me. they will experiment on every album but still retain a certain sound that is mind blowing, especially live.
When I found out they were going to play in California, let alone Sacramento, I nearly died from excitement. Tonight came out in January and I'm still listening to it nonstop.
When I saw these in October 2009 I didnt expect this When they did this live I just couldnt believe how amazing they were I would pay anything to see them again
This is the semi-demo version they put out in march of last year, kind of. They put in that electro bit at the end like they do on the album here. Anyway, you can get it from itunes as a single, and it's the b-side to No You Girls. It's also a bonus track to the itunes version of the tonight album. I got it from limewire in july of last year, but if you try here you might only find the album version there now.
There is the original version, but not an original version with the electronic beats in it like you say. I love the original better than the album version.
@ninja1dalbem Yeah, I know. It may also be that I expect them to sound just as good or something similar. My expectations have changed as I see the bands live.
I FUCKING LOVE this song!!! And I am so happy I got the chance to be there and witness it again! Who needs a drug when you can have Franz Ferdinand play live on a stage near you?!?!? Not too keen on the "fuzzy" camera action tho at the electronic bit- who said that was ace?!? grrr
it's the original version of lucid dreams. it's on the b-side on the ulysses-vinyl-single in germany an on the no you girls-single elsewhere. on the album is the remix version, also done by franz ferdinand.
I was at the Zenith in Paris for the concert Thursday, November 26 and when I saw all the musicians from each turn to in this piece, it made me immediately to mind Roxy Music in "For Your Pleasure. "
LUCID DREAMS, this ( 4:20 ) part in the concert was the ****** !!!!!!!!!!!!! BTW is this always they "exit song" ? xD was the same when he came to bogota..
Does anyone have this version? I have the album version (the only version I seem to get hold of) and I'm not too keen on it but this one, I HAVE TO HAVE IT!!!! If anyone does have it, would you send it to me?
why are you guys even mentioning the crowd? maybe they've been standing for hours to have a good view of the band & are too tired to dance, maybe they're high and just want to be immersed in the music - surely the band could care less whether people dance or not, just as long as people are enjoying the music. viva la Franz! can't wait to see them in SF in August!!
no point of comparison between this live version and the studio album one, the latter is clearly superior in every technical aspect, but mainly because it was in this way that we "met" lucid dreams and that is what we "bought"
wow the audience there is pathetic..When Franz Ferdinand performed at the Malkin Bowl in Vancouver it was 10X louder but a much smaller outside venue.. ohh ya and it was pouring rain . Now that was a great concert!
