French composer Lucie Antunes is broadening her sonic horizons with her playful second album Carnaval. Following the critical success of 2019’s Sergei, the classically-trained drummer and percussionist releases an ebullient, electronically-oriented follow-up that bursts with positive acclamations and is designed for the dancefloor.
A saccharine, confectionary reduction of rejoiceful indie electro-pop, “Hoho” sublimates everything that makes Lucie’s album great… celebration in the face of adversity and groovy synth loops that twist and turn as they anchor an ascending choir of "Ho ho ho’s”. A rollercoaster of entrancing synths and celestial onomatopoeia, Hoho is an addictive modern alt-pop masterpiece. Lucie Antunes is a classically & contemporary-trained drummer and percussionist, inspired by the pioneers of minimalism. She owns the unique ability to understand sounds in a way that a lot of people cannot and to prove it, she works with no musical objects with the desire to create new sound materials. Carnaval is her second album and is set to released on April 21th, 2023.
