I was 12 when this came out, it was a total banger when it came out. 42 years later, i am still singing it and just about everyone my age still loves it. As you said, it makes you think of summer and happy days, totally uplifting.

I remember this song when it first came out, it was amazing, and was getting played everywhere in the UK, it's still amazing today, 40 years after it was released, the song never gets old, and is better than some of the garbage in the charts now, as you might be able to tell, I love the 80's lol.

The band are from Birmingham, England, but the video was filmed in south London.

@@Shilo-fc3xmDublin is not in Britain. There was literally a war fought over that. In fact, Australia has a Union Jack on it’s flag so you’re more British than Dublin.

@@Dreyno Thank you for the geo political lesson. Many people around the globe are still not knowledgeable about even their own borders. If you asked the average American how many states there are I think a high percentage would get the answer wrong. I’m sure our Australian friend meant no disrespect and actually he mentions having been to Great Britain but he doesn’t say he visited Ireland. Also as far as the setting of the video goes it could easily be somewhere in Ireland, Scotland, Wales or indeed South London. Cheers from a Yank that just loves good music.

This was all over MTV back in the early eighties. Couldn't turn on the TV and MTV at any time and it not be on, or just finishing up or coming up.

This was a big hit for them but I don’t think they had any others. If you want some songs from the 80’s or 70’s there are so many. Here’s a few in no particular order: Queen - Hammer to Fall Kansas - Carry On Wayward Son Foreigner - Cold As Ice Chicago - 25 or 6 to 4 Kiss - I Was Made For Lovin’ You Flock Of Seagulls - Run (So Far Away) Boston - More Than A Feelin’ Tears For Fears - Shout Yes - Owner of A Lonely Heart There, that should add some variety. 😀
