That was proven time after time. Maze has dedicated herself to Lucifer since before the events of s1. She only stayed on earth because Lucifer decided to stay. I don't think she'll ever not be dedicated to him, it's clear tho that throughout the show her dedication went beyond just her being his demon.. She actually loved him and he her.
@@Casey420 it's not just that, she always saw herself as his protector, the one that gets there hands dirty so the other didn't have to. But like most protector relationships they grew close and it became less and less of a job or obligation and more of a I wanna do this. They are best friends and while Chloe will forever have his heart Maze will always have his back
@@TaliaIGhul do u guys remembee the episode where Lucifer meets Mazes mother?Didnt she ask for him to take her child(Maze)with him?So did Lucifer raise Maze or am I wrong??
@@anam4484 as far as I'm aware he practically raised her like a younger sister. I assumed they had met when they were relatively young or at least when she was relatively young as he was likely already alive for a while prior to his fall
The most painful part of this scene is you can see in her eyes that she knows this is an actual good bye. When Lucifer calls maze his best friend, I cried so hard because I've been waiting six seasons to hear him say that to her. Their goodbye was the most heartbreaking for me.
😐You know what else breaks my heart? I've been on this toilet constipated for about an hour now bracing for the pain that will come about by this tyrannosaurus sized 💩 that is inevitably going to exit my pooper.
As heartbreaking as this scene was the contrast between the final moments of Lucifer/Maze vs Lucifer/Lilith is apparent. Lilith parted with Lucifer as old acquaintances. Lilith believed having no ties made one indestructible but was curious about true love and never found it. Maze parts with Lucifer as a bestie. They have hurt each other but remain fierce friends. Maze has created bonds, found true love and friends. Her bonds have made her stronger. Luce sees them both off, Lilith to her lonely path and Maze to a promising future. This scene was such a gut punch.
@@ProfChaos1985 Lilith is in everything, the Bible, this show, Supernatural and many other things dealing with Lucifer. She’s vital to every story with Lucifer in it because she was the first demon he ever created and one of the only demons out of VERY FEW he actually considered as a friend in his billions of years of existing.
She truly understood that he was saying goodbye. That's why this scene hits the hardest, because she knew what he was doing. Sigh. I'll always feel sad that we didnt get more Maze, but Im glad we got this at least
She knew because otherwise she wouldn't have cried like that and she wouldn't have randomly given him the blade and said that it's so he always has a piece of her.
This is the most heartbreaking scene out of all of the goodbyes for me. They've been together since forever and have been through so much. They changed a lot too, especially Maze. Lesley-Ann Brandt slayed her role as Maze and she is AMAZING. Both the character and the actress themselves. I love the whole cast but I just really love Maze and her character development 😭💖
Oh my gosh!! Me too!! Other than the moments between Lucifer and Chloe, this one got me the most!😢 for Lucifer to finally recognize and tell Maze she is his best friend, she needed that and so did he! And the fact that she was the only one to realize that this was his way of saying goodbye just intensified their strong bond and relationship. By far one of the best scenes of the series.
Lucifer said goodbye to everyone but only Maze understood that he was saying goodbye. Adds layers to the character and their wonderfully culminated relationship. I adore this series.
I feel like she always somehow knew that this was going to happen, that’s why at the beginning she hated the idea of him staying on earth, because she knew that it wasn’t like hell, that he would not always be there with her if it where on earth. Maze is an incredible character
@@ariqsyafwan4987 We have to realize this was their real lives. They were family in & outside scenes. Years of being together. The reality of it ending came to them during this filming.
I hate seeing it end, Lucifer once made a stop in LA, Never knowing that he would change the lives of others. Let alone his own. Bravo to the cast and the series for one hell of a ride. Thank you to us fans for saving Lucifer when he fell off Hulu and got picked up on Netflix.
Maze was never the hugging type with Lucifer, but it was nice to see them share one, before parting ways. Lucifer and Maze will always be the sin to win, dynamic duo in my book!
Her face when he said "you are my best friend, maze" made the whole scene. Caught her off guard but she was loved hearing it This was the goodbye from lucifer that made me cry! I love maze and lucifer's relationship ❤
I'm so glad so many people here caught on the facial expressions and body language which make us understand that Maze understood everything. More than crying over the scene again, I cry because I know that sensible people still exist ♡
Of all his goodbyes, this one was really sad. Maze and Lucifer were the two characters who were alone in the world when the series started and despite all the fights and the betrayals and whatnot, they remained friends. This scene, more than anything, proved that Lucifer really would leave, like Rory had predicted.
I’m still sad (and mad) that Luci never said good buy to Trixie…. She adored him, she always trusted him. Just look at the hospital scene after Dan’s death. She didn’t believe it, not even from her mother. Only when Luci said he can’t tell her that Dan is going to be fine. I get that the actress was busy…. But that’s still sucks big time
I really hated how much they skipped over Trixie the last season and replaced her with Rory. Trixie most likely will die and be surprised to know her mother/stepfather and DAD knew all along that Heaven & Hell existed but never warned her about any of it and let her go through life without knowing & preparing for the eventual outcomes. Trixie really took a back burner on the show and it upset the shit out of me. Chloe & Dan cared about her so much and then one day she just disappeared basically.
@Haiiro Jin have you watched lucifer.. at all??? Trixie is literally Chloe and Dans daughter shown through season 1-5 and she appeared in season 6 too just not how we wanted.
I both love and despise this scene. It gave me everything I ever wanted to see in the Lucifer/Maze relationship... and yet it was the last ever scene between them. It seems so unfair that their relationship was sidelined for so many seasons. I loved the development they went through together in the first two seasons-and then they just kind of got into a cycle of never interacting with each other except on the occasion where Lucifer would do or say something to hurt Maze’s feelings-and then she’d betray him. AGAIN. It just felt like they never moved forward, and it made me sad. Tom and Lesley have great chemistry too, so it boggles my mind that the writers didn’t make just a little bit more time for them. Lucifer tells Maze she’s his best friend here, and I almost have a hard time believing it, since they haven’t really acted like friends in years. I know a big part of Maze’s arc was about her trying to establish an identity OUTSIDE of Lucifer, but still-I just think they could have done the relationship better justice. They were together for thousands of years, after all.
100% agree with you here. In the first two seasons it seemed like he was finally realizing she was more than a pet and she was developing feelings/a soul. And then S3 happened and after that we just never really got to see their connection grow again. So much focus was always on big guest stars (Cain, God, Rory), just wish we had gotten more development between the main cast as a whole really.
you are totally right with the sidelining them but , giving a point to the writers, that scene with eve and maze before the weeding and Luci conforting Eve and helping Maze bringing her family, that was one beautiful moment of them
Maze's character arc was one of the amazing things about this show . All those little moments where her guard comes down and reveals her to be someone that wants to be loved and appreciated, be a part of a family.
This scene was so well done. Maze always cared, even loved, Lucifer.. and he always cared so much for her. She knew he was saying goodbye but couldn’t bear to hear it, so she didn’t push the issue. What he says to her and the hug before she goes always makes me cry.
they became so close over these years. Maze started out being Lucifers kind of slave when they landed on Earth, and now, as we heard from Lucifer, they are best friends. and even though they didn’t really show that they care about each other, we could see that they truly did. Such a growth and development and such a heartbreaking goodbye not only for us fans and Maze and Lucifer, but also for Tom and Lesley. ( one of the most emotional ones for sure )Gonna miss them.
The real issue I have with Luci and Maze is that the writers spent too much time with them being at odds with one another over the past 6 seasons when we should have also had more this.
When I first saw this, when Lucifer said "you are my best friend" I did that little gasp with Maze because I too was surprised but happy because she finally heard how much she meant to him!!❤❤❤
I think this is my favorite scene from the whole series. When Lesley turns around and has multiple emotions at once. Wow, such good work and story telling. Replayed this so many times.
This scene made me realize what a precious gift closure is to all of us. It’s not so much about “and they lived happily ever after” as it is to restoring balance and sealing the angst of the unknown. To providing a measured return on the investment of emotion and time. To acknowledge “that we matter”. Deep down that’s what every soul yearns for. When Lucifer was doing all these poignant goodbyes I was subconsciously thanking all the writers for taking the time to add closure to all the connections we fans and casual viewers have developed over the years to these fictional characters. Something as simple as true closure would’ve really gone a long way in Westeros 🤨
Maze is the only one who really understood that Lucifer was saying goodbye to all the ones he loves. maybe best scene in a show full of wonderful scenes
Maze was the very best, her scene where she tells Lucifer about how she feels about him and the way he treated her was a real heartbreaker. She was the best....and so hot.
this was probably the hardest one to watch, even the Lucifer and Chloe one wasn't that hard, especially since the jokes they were making remembering us from past seasons and cause i been through that in season 4
For the majority of the show, Maze gave me headache. She really pissed me off. Yet, she proved that anyone can change. It’s like Lucifer said, she came so far. It was sad to see these friends part ways. I will miss this duo❤️🙌🏾
Did somebody imagine a Shadowhunters-Lucifer crossover? You know, Lucifer and Lilith (Lilith is in both show), angel-human hybrids, angel-shadowhunter hybrids, Magnus-Lucifer (the kings of hell), Magnus-Maze ("downworlders"). I think this would be interesting. I'm sad we never got it.
Maze your a demonic sweetheart she is such a talented lovely person who can make a change in this chaotic universe Iv you seen the bloopers she’s a good laughte and has a soul of a saint I mean the actress.
Most of the last half of the season had me bawling like a baby. So many emotional scenes, with losing my father IRL, I felt it all hit too close to home.
This was such a sad goodbye! I think Lucifer knew he was leaving ....he just didn't know where he was going yet! Plus, it was them saying goodbye for real.
Honestly after all six season I feel like this is the my most favorite moment...this is a moment between two people and not some celestial BS acknowledging how much they mean to each other...I have a lot of negative things to say about the final season but this is by far my favorite part of it and they deserve it. Good job people behind lucifer, at least you managed to do one thing right this season
Lucifer is Maze's best friend, in early seasons they would fight because Maze would felt betrayed everytime Lucifer plan something and keep it from her. "how could you go gome without me?" Lucifer's answer was because she is no longer his servant and wants her to have a life on Earth that she choose. Lucifer thought Maze just wanted to go back to hell for her own so Lucifer said that if she really wants to go back, she could just ask Amenadiel to fly him there but that was not the point. The point was he is her best friend and he always left her out just because Lucifer considered her free. To be fair, Maze is in a circle of betrayal and ally. She backstabbed and became a traitor a few times but that's because Lucifer didn't treat her as his best friend. So she finally cried in this scene because for the first time, Lucifer allowed her to know from himself on his own behalf to his best friend that he will leave her again. Maze already knew about it but if Lucifer didn't say goodbye again, she'll be pissed because she would feel invalidated and abandoned again by someone she spent a few thousand years with.
This is so freaking touching. This is the best show man. People who follow this show will know how much this means to Maze. Just those words alone, I think at that moment she would die for him. And why was this scene perfect? When the scene played out, I'm sure part of us were worried that he would put his foot in his mouth and piss maze off right at the moment when he meant to show care, and u see her uncertain face, and you think oh man I hope she doesn't misunderstand, and she doesn't and it worked out and she was really touched. That moment when he said she was his best friend and that instance she lost control and almost cried. Man, that was exactly why scene was perfect, how it toys with the audience's emotions like a roller coaster.
