Lucifer is an absolute gem of a comic series. It just displays how powerful a character that can literally remake anything as he sees fit can still be menacing without the use of his powers. I've always said that Lucifer's greatest ability isn't Reality Manipulation on a godly level, it's his intelligence.
Spoilers but god brainwashed Gabriel into using Azazel's sword on him and Lucifer (in which why he injured while talking to Gabriel). In which god comes back corrupted later

In all these kinds of stories, all powerful beings never seem to have anything better to do than haunt bars and have typical family drama. They may exist in infinite dimensions, blah blah, but wow, they really don't act like it. Surely someone who knows everything and can do anything must have something else to do.
Because writers and humans in general are bad grasping non regarding human minds, specially superior beings. And because it's easier to introduce cosmic level powers than to be consistent or plausible on their effects.
well, no, i don't think so. I mean, at the beginning, the Presence had lots to do but now that everything is in place, i don't see what he could do. And even if he had, it wouldn't take long to do considering omnipotence.
It represents carelessness among angels and archangels like Lucifer and Gabriel. They have been alive for so SO SOO long. Eventually their interests and goals begin to wear out and they just kinda want to live in peace.
Well , one thing is for sure , the cosmic/celestial beings in DC are very different from their counterparts in Marvel. Glad you are uploading again my good friend.
DC cosmology is a based around the Judeo Christian religion. Marvel cosmology isn't based on any religion (Actually judeo Christian religion exists in marvel. But it's still another pantheon in many) . Also DC Norse gods are close to their mythological counterparts while marvel Norse gods are treated more like regular superheroes.
I like marvel cosmology more than that of DC. But they fall short at making good stories. That's why many liked DC comics over Marvel. Marvel has the potential to create very good quality stories based on their cosmology.
I literally didn't know this was your work till I looked at the comments. This is great stuff I love all your videos about the different religious pantheon's. Great work you are a truly great artist and writer

@@tec-6tec-662 The lucifer in the series is an ego maniac narcisit, with a very very shallow personality that wastes his time doing useless things like solving crimes just because he wants to have sex with the detective.. The comics are about the prime creation of god, the first living thing... he is older than death.. therefore he cannot die... the most intelligent and wise and powerful creature in the multiverse.. the guy that created every single star and planet.. yet he almost never uses violence.. he NEVER EVER LIES.. yet he makes people and gods do as he wishes... with his cunning. A being that is faster than the flash... but takes a bus to get to a specific place.. because.. well why would a being as old as the multiverse hurry ?.. he might take the time to watch the sun and the clouds by the window.. or maybe talk to an old lady... His desire is to step out of gods plan.. he wants freedom and have a deep sense of honor and respect for anyone seeking freedom. In DC.. there is the presence.. the creator of the multiverse... that lies inside the overvoid (a field of infinite nothingness but with infinite possibilities.. that spawned an infinite being as the presence). The presence created multiverses... on the last iteration he created jsut the multiverse empty.. and created 3 archons.. Michael, Samael (lucifer) and Gabriel... Michael creates energy at will inifitenly.. samael can shape everything in the mutliverse.. so he shapes energy into matter and matter into stars.. etc.. Gabriel can bring life. After life was created.. the 7 Endless started to appear.. Detiny, Death, Dream, Destruction, Desire,Despair,Delight. The living beings believe and dream of gods... so gods start o appear as part of Dream (the endless). All pantheons and other gods are spawns of Dream (sandman) or are just physical powerful beings. The endless are above gods... the archons are above the endless.. and the presence above the archons.
@@tiagodagostini The void did not "spawned an infinite being as the presence". The void is "The Presence" since, in Lucifer #75, The void and "The Presence" are described respectively "infinite" and "eternal". In addition, the concept of the Overvoid is that it is an entity beyond contradictions. The Overvoid is therefore God and The Source in one and the same entity.
@@y.n9264 That is incredbily dubious... the presence itself says it is shaped.. and it is itself IN The void not the void itself. A simple proof of that, is the beast.. that is another being that is a counterpart of the presence.. also originated from the overvoid infinity of possibilities. The presence is all in the multiverse it created.. Within one infinity you can have several infinities within it... The rpesence itself at end of lucifer says lucifer will be free from the presence in the void.. so the void is NOT the presence.. (yet i am one that doe snot agree with settign the overvoid as a character.. it does not work well in the view of the monitors... it works best at vertigo view of a concept of infinity of everything... and of nothing)
@@tiagodagostini As author Mike Carey said: We create our gods, in our own image. Meaning that we create the shape of these entities according to our belief system. It is a concept that has been put forward in The Sandman, in which the Dream of the Endless takes different forms depending on the person's belief. So we don't create these entities, but what they look like according to our belief system. In Mike Carey Lucfier run, the Presence did not assert that he is in The Void. The Void and The Presence are the same entity since the latter asserts to Lucifer that he is "eternal" and "infinite", which is The Void. Moreover, it is the opposite according to the words of DeMatteis, who asserts that The Void is inside God. It's not proof : in Alan Moore Swamp Thing run, the opposite of the Great Evil is none other than the light when God pronounced: let there be light. Moreover, the Shadowland is a dimension of the Great Evil created as a result of this word. The Great Evil lost its nature because of the light before God gave it back through an aspect of light in order to form with the Great Evil, the darkness, the yin-yang. Meaning that light and darkness are complementary to each other. Since you mention the Overvoid, Grant Morrison stated, in Inside the Mind of Grant Morrison - IGN, that God, The Source and Overvoid are beyond such duality. Finally, " The rpesence itself at end of lucifer says lucifer will be free from the presence in the void.. so the void is NOT the presence.." is not a point since "The Presence" stated that, in Lucifer #75, it uses aspects to interact with his creation. So The Presence in Lucifer #75 is only one aspect.
@@tiagodagostini It's 100% the same person. Just a different take on him due to it being live action version. He's more true to the comic version than a lot of people give credit for. Same way his comic version rarely uses his abilities even though he could literally warp reality as he see's fit on a whim he would rather manipulate and use his intelligence than use his actual powers because that would be too easy and boring for him. @@tiagodagostini Yeah his personality is slightly different but there's points in the show where he looks all somber and nonchalant while drinking or playing the piano which is his personality in the comics. It's implied Lucifer created that universe specifically for her to rule because it was a void and at the time she was about to explode with light.
