In Islam, Lucifer (Iblis) was a jinn who prostrated to ALLAH on every single inch of the earth and thus ALLAH gave him status above angels but when ALLAH created First Human (Adam) and told angels to bow down to adam , Lucifer denied to bow saying that He( Lucifer) was created with fire while Adam is created with soil hence becoming a devil and he promised God to distract humans from worshipping only ALLAH Thus Iblis is not innocent

Let me tell all the people who think Lucifer was not innocent , both literally and metaphorically he was innocent . Literally , he was the first creation of God but when God created Adam , he wanted everybody to bow down to him , but as the first creation, shouldn't Lucifer be more superior ? . Metaphorically , tirth has used Lucifer as an example of the phrase , " Villains are not born , they are made ." Hence , all Villains are innocent at the roots . That is also why we say " Lucifer WAS innocent " . Thank you if you read this till the end .
For those who are saying Lucifer was Evil, Lucifer is Shaitan/Devil. They are forgetting the fact that before that he was Also an Angel & not just any Angel.. the Best, Wiset and the Closet to God before the humans were made. So What I am able to Understand is that, it is stated in Holy Books :- "Whatever happens in this world OR any Realm is Happening according to the Will of GOD, without his will if a simple leaf cannot fall down or move by the wind." then Whatever situation took place at the time when God asked Lucifer to give respect to human & specially even though he was the best amongst angels, he denied God's request (so even that should have also happened from his will) and then was given the Role as the Ruler of Hell. Try to think.. if it wasn't for Lucifer.. then who would have been more worthy to Handle the most important role given by God.
Why didn't he obey God's order and didn't pay respect to Adam . He was very egoistic nature charecter. And also he didn't sorry for that and didn't ask for forgiveness to God . He just challenged God that he will distract whole mankind against God. So how Lucifer can be Innocent! Lol
