I would pray for a video diving into how Reaper has fallen off and lost his identity as the game’s core tank buster and flanker and has become the “He is a pick but … does it better” character.
They should make it so his wraith form also gives you 3-dimensional movement, like in the cinematics. It would make him more dynamic and cooler, while adding some skill expression aswell
the problem with current lucio isnt the boop being too weak against tanks. its the damage of his primary fire along with low ammo and long reload speed. if you revert the last lucio change (the shift of damage from boop to primary fire) he will be able to be a good duelist again.
I think Frogger puts it best in his recent video where he talks about his problems with Overwatch "A rant about Overwatch 2" around 22 min-mark. Tank as a role is already suffering, and allowing Lucio to freely boop the guy that is meant to take the brunt of the force is an awful experience for the other who is already facing other CCs from the entirety of the team. People would kept on complaining about boop, making it so that his boop eventually getting nerf'ed. Blizzard made it so that you are allowed to boop and punish others more harshly but not the tank. It's choosing lesser of the two evils.
So funny that Brawl and Goats couldnt work without him, even Brig was replaced after the nerfs by Zen/Ana/Lucio, he even fits perfectly into Dive as well, he really is the true villain of OW
Lucio is the father of brawl / rush composition. There are no compositions involving Reinhardt / Ramattra / Junker Queen / Zarya / Orisa, where Lucio is not the most optimal support pick. Speed is key, it is a fact of these compositions that they need the speed and his ultimate is disputably the best in the support roster and only contends with Kitsune Rush and Nano-boost.
@@peanut4831that would be true if Brigitte never existed if brig>lucio you wouldn’t play Lucio over her you would run bap brig Ana brig etc etc instead, in 6v6 at least mercy replaced Lucio, double flex comps still exist Lucio isn’t the end all be all to these characters 🤦🏽
as someone who has played since 2016- lucio to me is the most fulfilling character to play in the game, hands down. I love healing my team, sticking with a rein while we push back the enemy is one of my favorite things to do, and good lord i can stall like a mother fucker on a point like theres no tomorrow. I love lucio, lucio best boy.
I’m a Lucio main, personally I think the tank passive was necessary. Lucio shouldn’t be able to straight up solo tanks. Also it feels so much more satisfying booping tanks off the map because it’s difficult
At least you can boop supports and DPS so the changes shouldn’t really matter for you guys, not unless you consider how you guys feel when you play Tank against a Lucio boop…. Except for those Lucio one-tricks.
@@AdhvaithSanethe only problem is most dps and supports have some sort of movement/escape ability so it makes environmental kills so much harder to pull off without insane luck
Lucio was the first hero i played in a match. As huge fan of Jet Set Radio, how could i not love him? (Also i think he’s cute and his VA is handsome AF) 7 years later (I joined in 2017), and he’s still one of my top used supports, mostly in brawl comps if the other support picks a main healer, or in push maps where mobility is stressed way more than anything else. I swap back and forth between an aggressive reddit Lucio and team support Lucio in every match as it seems to be the fastest way I can build ult and cancel other ults. (I really focus on fast ult build when going against a D.Va). The speed allows me to move quickly between enemy teams and my own team, and brawl comps are even easier because the teams will often get jumbled and that chaos is where he thrives.
This was a very entertaining video to watch and as a Lucio main I love the way he plays as he is one of the fastest characters, and I personally love the fast gameplay. He provides Lucia heels are nothing to look down upon as they are the only consistent AOE in the game right now the only difference between him, Moira and Baptiste is that he actually has a lot of skill that’s locking him behind his kit. I do honestly feel like the damage switched between his boot and primary fire was a bad idea. It would’ve been a lot nicer to keep the primary damage the way it was a blizzard never really makes anybody happy so I do hope that he gets a bit of a cheeky buff in season 11🤭
lucio is the reason i still play this game! hes so fun anyone whos bored of overwatch just try out this hero theres so much depth and once you get kinda good at wallriding and aiming you feel so powerful but never in a way that makes it feel like you didnt deserve it
i started on ow2 so i’m pretty biased when i say, i think this version of lucio is probably one of the most balanced characters in ow2 other than echo. he still has a pretty big skill gap so mastering him actually feels rewarding and he’s just so fun to play. literally just tried him out in competitive a few hours ago and that match was probably the most satisfying and exciting push bot i’ve played. it’s a shame though, in my lobbies i rarely see a lucio or a kiriko main so most of the time, i’ll have to play more towards main healing than anything. but with the choice to give everyone the healing passive, it finally allowed supports to do something other than healbotting like crazy and actually be a bit more active in fights, which as a support main i actually do like quite a bit (even if it makes some fights more annoying). i just love my funky frog man and hope that blizzard leaves him alone ❤
I've always known Lucio isn't the best in healing output but people in the mid ranks aren't comfortable with lightweight healers like him and Zen. The trade off for using those characters is to bring more attack power to your team, but the Lucio damage nerf means you are not contributing so little, so you're better off just initiating the speed boost. Pair this with total beginner Lucio players who start as healbots who leave the healing track on, and we've gone back to square one where the original problem of Lucio was that he's only picked just to exist.
there was a guide on when lucio first release and said speed is mid and use heals. wall is meh so i think people during launch dont use speed, just heal
The first time i played Lucio i thought his ult was a bigger version of his push, so i went into the enemy's team and pressed "Q". Fortunately none of my teammate raged at me, but it was embarrassing when i realised what i did.
As somebody who got into ow bc of lucio and I still main him, he isn’t in a bad spot, it’s everyone else. Overwatch rewards low skilled heroes. Sym getting a health buff. Sombra being in every. Freaking. Match. Moira literally has auto aim. Lifeweaver is extremely hard to kill, and his thorns are way more effective in a 1v1. Pharahs are everywhere. And you can somehow boop a rein charge but can’t boop a mauga one. It’s just so frustrating to play against so many different hero’s and then somehow they just get BUFFED even more. Like this season has been miserable. Part of last season was so horrible I temporarily uninstalled the game. Sad times
The main issue Boop has is it can't be buffed a lot because it has such a low cd. It has to have an impact of a move that is up every 4 seconds. Tbh I would nerf the tank passive back to 30 and increase the cd by like a second. Buff the damage by like 25% to compensate. I think Lucio is fine, I just think he is usually good when everyone around him (meta wise) is too strong. Not saying Lucio is unbalanced, btw.
Can you plese start going more in detail about the meta history? I find it interesting the role heroes played in it. Also, could you do a vid on tank synergies? I never experienced them cause I started in overwatch 2
Just give him 25 ammo and a slight dmg buff, all of the other supports are straight up dps with the high dmg(illari's Ult is something......)the last boop buff with an ammo increase is another recommendation if blizzard still want his dmg to be low
Only thing lucio needs to be able to consistently get those kills is an extra four bullets. Most of the time when diving a target I’ve put them on one health and then their healers will get back. Just don’t know why they decided to decrease his bullet damage when it was fine 😂
I'll say the Role Passive problem here; While its fine for all heroes in a role to have a unifying theme, they are all different heroes and as we can see simply giving them all the same passive does nothing for individuals that need an edge in their category while absolutely breaking others (positively and negatively).
He never really did. Booping tanks off the map is really map dependent, and even with the right map, there are just much stringer boop abilities like pharah and brig, especially since you don’t need to get next to the enemy to use them.
I don't know how you would never get frustrated with Lucio when he can sit on a payload and not die for seconds when it's just him and three members of the enemy team. It's kind of funny but holy shit, if he avoids hits enough he just lives forever with his wall movement speed and self healing. He is cool though I'll give him that, even if dying to a Boop is the worst thing in the world lol
