Said this for years as a Utd fan. The Ole period was monumental in the destruction of the clubs & fans standards, to where now we are sat in 14th, and there are still fans out there who lay little blame at the managers door. He made the players happy, so what!?!!?! Unbelievable.
The ole era was no different in the levels of destruction than LVG or Mourinho. Uniteds destruction started in 2005 when the glazers bought the club and slowly deteriorated fron there
@phuston087 nope, Fergie showed with a top manager, you can compete and win the biggest trophies, even with poor owners. There's many many cases of elite management winning under poor ownership. There's little examples of poor management winning under elite ownership. Under Ole , fans didn't critique him the same because he was such a legend as a player, and fans found excuses to not blame him, and this rolled onto the next coach Eth. It was completely different under Moyes Jose & LvG where they were fiercely criticised despite never being as poor as we were under Ole & EtH. By making excuses for standards dropping, fans have allowed 6 years of bang average managers to take this club to a level so low, not seen since the 70s.
@kol9382 what fergie showed was that with 20 years and much success behind him and a squad that was young and built in his imagine by 2005 he could keep the ball rolling for a last few years before he retired. United were provably worse under Moyes & LVG than under ole as the league tables show. In moyes only season we finished 7th with some of the worst football I've ever seen With LVG we finished 4th & 5th (to be fair to LVG he was trying to put a philosophy and play style into the club and didn't get the time to do it as the results wernt there and the football was painful ro watch) We finished 2nd & 3rd consecutively under ole before the wheels came off in season 3. To say Ole wasn't the answer is fair but to say we were worse under him or he was the reason for the clubs down fall is just madness. Given he's literally Unites most successful manager league finish wise since SAF
The mentality of Mike phelan showed us man utd still think they are the big club, yet at current level only a mid table team trying to avoid relegation
@@mezza.7any club can be successful by buying success. Utd were able to get any player on the planet in their heyday, but can't anymore. They can't bribe the referees either, so surprise surprise, their success has stopped
always agreed with Simon on this. Ole was soft and let levels slip over his time. He had a better squad that Ten Hag and yet never won a single trophy. They actually have very similar win percentage records. although signing Ronaldo did not help Ole's cause. That caused the dressing room split that season.
Ole finished in champions league positions . Ten Haag won two cups but he also had humiliating defeats and the worst PL finish in years. I don’t know, but I would take Ole’s years over Ten Haag
Jim white and Mike yes man Phelan have a clear bias for ole. Why aren't the same standards applied to Jose and other foreigns. Phelan was right place right time. After Queros left our football and tactics were clearly declining and that was in large part down to Micky Phelan. Bang average coach who is making money off his CV rather than his ability. It pays to be a yes man
Utd create and promote a mercenary culture with players. They're the biggest charity in football. Every club knows to overcharge them and get them to spend more than the players are worth and evrey player signed knows he can just relax on the bench and collect his ridiculous salary. And they can't sell players as there's no other club that would in their right mind pay players those salaries. They can buy every player and every manager. It won't make any difference. Their culture with money is toxic. Until they fix that, this club will never come right.
"If you want to see Man United in these [high profile games] you have to watch UK Gold." Jamie Carragher (Ex-Liverpool Defender), 2024. The attraction and appeal of Man U has gone. They ran tings for about 20 years, now others are on top. Football, like all things in life, is cyclical
Thats why ManU is not this big club Jordan continuously mentions, the real big clubs are not washed for 11 years. The PL is only interesting for one reason: money, not the clubs, not the football and not the fans, the most money, thats it and the UK media ? dear god 🙈
@ 6 top clubs because they can spend gazillions, it’s the money that brought in the foreign players and coaches that make the PL, not the english football and coaches. That the British only watch the classiso doesn’t mean the rest the rest of europe doesn’t watch other leagues, we do, we know what’s going on in the rest of the football world.
@@yerrie1908 Whatare you talking about? English football completely dominated Europe in the late 70's and early 80's without "gazillions". You know nothing
Until they get rid of Rashford, they ain’t winning a premier league. Mediocre player who’s been over promoted and MASSIVELY overpaid. To top it all off, the lad feels no appreciation for the career he’s been gifted. Takes the mick drinking abroad the night before training, doesn’t apologise to fans, gets championed by the manager and keeps his place in the team and STILL walks around with a miserable face like he hates the game.
Lmao all of you that agree with this drivel are hilarious. DAVID MOYES IS THE REASON WE ARE HERE NOW. He destroyed fergies work in the blink of an eye, and we’ve been trying to recover ever since. 😂
@@jamesgunn7Ole created the mindset. Ten Hag never changed culture that’s true, but Ole made mediocrity the standard at Utd which has continued for last couple of years
Of course United are talked about being the most hated club in the world.. they also talk about Harry and Meghan, Just Stop Oil and Hitler, and are these widely adored.? Nope
Ole, First season at MU 6th, second season 3rd, third season 2nd, fourth season 7th when sacked, Jordan's comments of massive decline doesn't add up, Simon not a serious commentator
Finished 2nd, finished 3rd. Got to 2 finals. Scored the most goals, had the best defence in Europe for some time all untill his final season where Ronaldo and sancho disrupted his style of play. Ole was not a failure. The entire team and back room staff loved him. Unfortunately for him there was no coming back after that final season as the dressing room was lost
