This was a lucky catch indeed! I just happened to be traveling down Sierra Road in Oakdale when I caught Sierra Northern shoving a long cut of grain hoppers and empty well cars eastbound from the Oakdale yard, towards the grain transfer facility. I pulled off and began to film the couple mile shove. I caught up with the train as it crossed Sierra Road. As the locomotive went by the engineer glanced at me and gave me a friendly two finger wave, followed by an extended arm wave out the window as the locomotive continued up the line. This engineer obviously recognized me and extended the friendly gestures as a welcome! This was also really the first time i captured the Sierra transporting well cars on the main. I had some time to kill, so I decided to stick around and get some switching action. I had to wait a while as the train switched around cars inside the facility, but the train eventually came out and I got the shots I was waiting for. During switching moves the conductor had to flag the crossing on Sierra Road as the crossing gates were not functioning on this day. To top it off, the weather was beautiful and finally not raining👍😎. The locomotive featured is an ex UPY genset 2679, now owned by Sierra Northern. Sit back and enjoy the switching action. Please like, share, comment, & subscribe. Thank you for all the continued support!

@@Alex_filmz_stuff Wow! Just like the big boys! It's been a very long time since the Sierra ran from Jim Town up to Angels....my late mother and family rode that route a few times in the late '20s and early '30s when they visited the Stevenots, Carleys, Raggios, and Tryons.....thence up to what is now Tryon Meadows near Highland Lakes and Folger. Keep 'em coming! Best, PK
