Am a Ghanaian and I loved this man so much, the day I heard he was shot dead l was lying down in my room and I couldn’t even got up from the floor to bath nor eat till everything and up to date his death hurts me so much. Hmmm I still don’t understand why someone should take such a good man’s life? This world is full of Evil and Crazy. REST IN PEACE Mr Dube.

2003 was the year my wife & I felt his impact in Fiji . Every where we went ,his music ( & Gospel music ) is all we heard. My wife’s was driving to CA & she stopped at a Mall in Medford OR , and bought her very first reggae tape & she instantly became a Fan . Bob, is her #1 ,Lukuy Dube #2 Peter Tosh #3 to this day. We almost had an opportunity to book him but a promoter in Portland beat us to contract him. We went to see him but only got a chance to sit & visit with keyboardist ,Thuthukani ...Tutu shared that Lucky was very tired to come out. The road is so hard on musicians as we have witnessed with Joseph Hill ( performed twice at our venue ) who flew straight from Ivory Coast to perform & went to his bed sick. We always go up to Thank our artist and sick as he was, he gave us permission to come on board to talk. Weeks later he passed away as we were in the Bahamas. We have truly lost incredible Reggae Artisit ,ICONS really.
Lucky Dube displayed his intelligence here, talking about his music and the message embedded in his music. I liked the fact that he had focus in what he was doing. His philosophy, birth and evolution were quite unique. For accomplishing his mission here, even in such a short lifetime, I thank Jah. RIP, brother.

True, you said it well. What i personally like about Peter Tosh is his speech at the one love concert, his song "here comes the Judge"and his spiritual dualism in the song Oh Bumbo Clat. Lucky Dube only caught my attention cos his understanding for being a Rasta was exactly my deepest thought for years and years and i was amazed to discover his connection with My biggest inspiration: Peter Tosh! The next one must sure be bullet proof. Anyway they live on!
Only a few people actually still mention Peter Tosh. Am grateful Lucky Dube is and he dare admits publicly be influenced by Peter Tosh music. It is a good thing Lucky Dube cultivated the radical and more militant side in Peter music for the world to accept. Peter was like Malcolm X fighting his struggle in a society which wasn't ready for raw speech and people who dare say it like it was and still is. Peter Tosh is reincarnated in Lucky. Both died 43 years of age by brutal murderers.

Lucky Dube was the man and his role model lifestyle is good.Some part of me I feel like creating time machine of mine alone then go to actually date year Lucky Dube would be about to be killed and save him. When people say Bob Marley is king of Reggae,Lucky is the true king of Reggae why?How?He is role model in terms of his lifestyle like not drinking alcohol or smoke ganja or smoke e.t.c.
