@@Dex11421speed is another thing that's theorized to influence time, in fact according to relativity the closer you get to light speed the slower you move through time. The most common way to explain it is with twins, send one to space on a 5 year voyage at roughly %10 light speed at the end of that 5 years he turns around and comes back at the same speed. Our astronaut experiences 10 years while Earth experiences nearly a century. If by some miracle you achieved light speed time dilates to an absolute stand still, we say it takes 8hrs for light to leave the surface of the sun and reach the earth but for the Photon it left the sun and reached the earth in the same instant, the Photon moves so quickly it doesn't experience time, but to outside observers multiple hours passed before that Photon completed it's journey

Space, time, there's a complexity that means both of them are roughly the same thing. That's what physics tells us. Gravity is an action of time dilation. Gravity and time are two sides of the same coin. A photon has no mass, no gravity, and has zero time! The fact that it travels through space means that the speed of light is equal to time=0.

@My_Name_Is_Mud. 8 месяцев назад
@frostbitten2598 The point is that it only "feels" like a second or however length of time, because we put a value or meaning to that time. My subjective minute is not the same as your internal clocks minute. My red is not the red your eyes process as mine. We only agree that it's "red" so we have a common understanding and a way of communicating. Without giving meaning, it's just, "a length of time" or "a color,". But we only agree that 1 second IS 1 second because we agree that 1 second is a caesium 133 atom vibrating at frequency ∆v. That bit goes a bit beyond me after just waking up at 5am. But my point is, 1 "second" is only non-arbitrary because we all agree to follow one definition for that length of time. If we wanted to, we could have called "1 second of time" the amount of time it takes for the moon to orbit the earth.
@My_Name_Is_Mud.
@My_Name_Is_Mud. 8 месяцев назад
@@frostbitten2598 Also, just a super simple way to refute your claim of 'time is universally constant' is to just look at the very surface-level understanding of black holes that is pretty dang common in today's pop culture: someone's hour near a black hole is NOT the same as an outside observers hour.

Its a fact that some people are able to do more with their brain than others. For an amazing contrast in themes, watch this movie alongside Transcendence. They both have a very similar premise but go in wildly different directions because they have very different beliefs about knowledge and science. Transcendence seems to want to be the more intelligent movie, yet it is deeply pessimistic about scientific progress and only sees intelligence as a way of leading us to our own destruction. The heroes of the movie are the anti-technology luddite terrorists because in the end they were right to fear what science is capable of. Lucy, on the other hand, despite not taking itself seriously at all, is significantly more optimistic. It sees knowledge as at worst neutral and at best a way of progressing mankind to new heights. It recognizes that it is not technology which destroys us but people who wish to use that technology for their own selfish ends. As someone who enjoys analyzing the ways science is framed in media Lucy is one of my favorites in this regard, second only to Ghostbusters.

The concept of time is the main conflict between Quantum mechanics and relativity. Time is not fundamentally real. Humans created the concept of time. Time has no start and finish. We defined what makes a minute, how many are in an hour. How many hours make a day and days make a year. Just like we created calendars. This was one of my favorite subjects to learn about and in Astronomy. Edit: just to be clear, something being a human created concept doesn’t make it not fundamentally real! We created measurements for distance, but distance is real because there is a starting point and ending point that can be measured. Time has no beginning or end. Nor is it something that can physically be seen and measured by the eye. You can only measure time by what you define time is. That is why math and distance and other human created concepts are physically and fundamentally real. Time is physically real, but not fundamentally real. Hope that helps it make sense!
@ETuss713
@ETuss713 8 месяцев назад
We didn't create distance. Distance isn't a concept. Distance is measurable. Whether we measure that Distance in inches, millimeters, miles, radians, seconds, or minutes. Ok. Lemme try to bullshit this tho. If you think about it there are more ways to have 1+1 not equal 2 than there are for it to equal 2. What’s the length of [0,1]+[1,0] which is, in a way, 1+1? That’s right, it’s the square root of 2. And what about adding 2 velocities together? If you think about it, adding velocities in the opposite direction is like adding 1+1. 1m/s+1m/s= 2m/s sure, but what about when the velocities are 1C? Well, that’s equal to [C-(-C)]/[1-(C*(-C)/C^2) which equals 2C/[1+(C^2/C^2)] which equals 2C/2, or just C. So boom. 1+1 does not equal 2

Yet the reality is this is ture. We can literally alter reality, quantum science proved that. We can choose how fast we perceive time by our focus levels, this has been scientifically proven. We created a scale but because of this scale we limited our comprehend of what's possible. Magic is literally real because all magic is, is the ability to alter the quantum reality with your mind. Everything is made out of frequency, vibration, & energy. Do your history research on education. The American education system was designed to literally make you less intelligent, why? To depower you & the power you have. If they make you believe magic isn't real, then they can literally destroy our connection to it for positive change. Hypnosis, psychology, & quantum entanglement means that magic is real. We a literally no different than a video game, which means there's cheat codes. Hell scientifically we have already proven that our universe has a literal correction code running in the background. Look up plasmoid unification model. The things that are possible with Plasmoid is literally Alchemy used by ancient civilizations. Plasmoid is our most advanced scientific tech & psychology is the most advanced understanding of the mind. It doesn't matter what you think you know, if you listen to 90% of these comments you're making yourself less intelligent. Musicians, story writers, game designers, & UX designers are literally some of the most powerful beings in our universe. Everyone else is nothing more than a NPC that's being used to farm power for whoever is controlling them. The more people under their control the more power they have over reality. The thing that this doesn't go over is that time is the scale that was created to limit us. There are literal cultures in our world that still thrive today that doesn't have a concept of time & doesn't even have words for time, past, future, yesterday, tomorrow, etc. Prove me wrong on all of these, I dare you. Did you know that if you had the ability to stop time with only you moving, you wouldn't be able to see anything because the would be no light bouncing off of the objects around you
@uvl.g5611
@uvl.g5611 8 месяцев назад
That's actually a pretty brilliant thought. If light stopped moving, there would be nothing for your eyes to interpret. The harder question is how the hell can you function if you're literally outside of time. If you're inside time when it's frozen, you too would be frozen.
@beastmasterbg

But if you stopped time won't the light be already bounced and stopped and the moment of bouncing
@sujithsudhakaran745
@sujithsudhakaran745 8 месяцев назад
You should be able to see as the light is already there to begin with it's just not moving . Buy if someone is moving in stopped time it may be impossible to see them since light isn't there to reflect off them .

Bro is onto absolutely nothing. The reason the car disappears is because of the shutter speed of the camera
@thegingerpowerranger
@thegingerpowerranger 8 месяцев назад
But if you had an infinitely fast shutter speed you would eventually capture the image which means it still is based on the unit of measure being time. Don't quit your day job.

Not actually 'bro', have you seen a bullet get fired in slow motion? You're slowing the time in a the video, making time so much slower to make it comprehensible. and we speed that clip back up and the bullet disappears, what proof would you have that it existed? could say the target however., What if it was angled upwards? Then there's no proof other than a camera recording a clear area and slowing down video until a bullet appears to which out eyes can see.

Lucy (or the writer) says "time" is the only true unit of measure like it's some kind of special variable of the universe. If anyone in that room said, "Okay, Lucy, say you're right - where does time come from, and how is it not a man made unit of measure?" Her (and the writer's) head would explode :).
