I was 11 yrs old

I always heard this was about LSD (it was the drug of choice back then) but also heard young Sean L. drew a picture of a girl named Lucy in the sky with--diamonds. His dad wrote a song about it and the rest is history. Probably a bit of truth to both. Fantastic song.
