@@DeertickDaniel Neither does Lucy lmfao. They just chose her because they wanted to. The story of GG is done, they're just doing whatever is fun/makes the most money.
They've been teasing something along the lines of the Team of 3 mode literally since before the game came out. They've written about having multiple characters on screen or controllable in backyards going back to season 1. Before, they lamented PS4 not being able to hack it (and if you remember, PS4 didn't get the assist-character stuff in the Arcade mode). It's not like this came out of nowhere.
@@ANIMEILLUMINATI I’m curious which issues you mean? To me the biggest issue with the game has been the online play - lack of a true queue and ranked mode. This team of 3 introduced a whole huge apparatus for a true ranked queue system. Istg if they only use it for team of 3 I’ll be so disappointed haha. But they’ve done the work now, and it works, so I’d expect them to roll it out together - for standard ranked as well as the tag stuff.
I didn't expect Lucy to be in a fighting game! I'd thought it'd be Rebecca since she's very popular. Still happy to see Lucy, though! Dizzy looks fabulous (the hair!), and Venom's design is so timeless that it hasn't changed much since 2000. Jam missed out on Vanilla XRD, so this isn't her first absence.
@@maxmin2434 no he’s not even close lmao, the official edge runners account ran a poll between the two most popular characters Lucy and Rebecca. Lucy won. And Lucy and Rebecca both beat him out when it comes to marketing. When ppl think of Edgerunners they think of Lucy and Rebecca first way before David.
I’d play Jam if she were fully clothed. I want to go full rush down monke and annoy my opponents with her voice. And I like having to spend time to buff my moves. I like having to make the choice between buffed specials or oki.
To each their own. Lucy is cool (would've prefered David tbh) I like Jam and GG could use more resource characters like here. Not everyone plays on PC so the colors are welcomed.
I agree that Unika and Lucy is a cool choice, even if instead of Jam. I'm not agree with Dizzy, Venom and 80% of ggst cast instead of Jam. I need to run my chinese food cafe somehow u know

I dunno if you've been playing mid/high level matches recently Jiyuna, but those two major changes (DP RC and wall wild assault) have made the game a hell of a lot more fun, I feel there's a lot more risky skirmishes happening now instead of the absolute "flowchart into snowball" gameplay from season 3 that made the game real stale. I think killing the universal setplay momentum is really what this game needed. That being said, I just wanted more cool resource characters and Jam with the cards was unique. I wonder if they would bother implementing that into Strive Jam...
@@YukonJackno but they nerfed it heavily. WWA is no longer plus on block so it ends the users turn essentially and WA in general doesn’t give a HKD on wall break. There’s other changes too but those are the big ones. As well as nerfing burst meter gain in general
It took them 4 years to realize that Leo was a problem because there are no JP Leo players outside of Gekiuma who plays Leo by not using backturn stance then giving him buffs by saying "Leo has difficulty opening up players!" At this point there's really no shame in kneecapping some characters. They did it with Blazblue ALOT, no one would miss HC or Leo or Nago or Sol just running away with wins in tournaments.
Remind me again which character(s) won Evo this year? How many HC/Leo/Nago/Sol were in top 32? I'm not gonna argue that certain characters aren't quite strong, but I wouldn't even begin to put HC next to Leo. It's not like Nago's are regularly "running away with wins in tournaments"... point them out, eh?

@@burningprodigy Jack-o has won two majors. HC has not dominated globally on this patch. Tempest’s Leo has been very dominant, and Leo just got nerfed. The balance of this game really is not bad and it has mostly trended towards improvement. When you suggest “kneecapping” characters purely for your own enjoyment, you ignore the loads of players who play those characters or enjoy watching them. Moving towards better balance is always good but your thoughts are muddied imo. Could HC clone get changed? Totally! Beyblade nerfed? Yes please. But these characters should still be strong and viable, the whole cast should be. Characters shouldn’t be thrown away just because you are tired of them. Maybe I misunderstand what you mean by “kneecapping”.

I like how nearly every character in Guilty Gear has, at one point, been the most obnoxious character in the series. People were saying the same thing about Baiken when she dropped: "If Baiken is your favorite character, you probably don't play Guilty Gear." Love it!
I'm down for Jam to be in a full robe for all I care, I already had this mess of a username that happened to contain Jam and I'll keep playing her for the same reason when she is in strive
clicked the video, didn't watched yet and i am going to say already as a Jam main in other games, i don't want her in Strive as i didn't wanted Makoto in SF5, when the game is too simple and bad, my main characters can stay out of it.

I am firmly against guest characters, but the only reason I’m lenient with this one is because of how much I love cyberpunk, the anime, and Lucy. That being said, my non fgc friend who knew how much I loved Lucy sent me the ign article in advance and spoiled it for me. I was deliberately ignoring discord servers and twitter cause I knew it had been leaked, but you can’t really account for your friends who don’t know any better. Huhhhh I can’t really blame him but I will forever be annoyed that I didn’t get to experience that reveal live because the pop off would have been immeasurable.
What's yall hate over guess characters? I never understood what the issue was with a character from another game. Especially when arc systems had a hand on creating edge runners, so why wouldn't they add her in their game
@@pancakes7483 because this is a guilty gear game. People want guilty gear characters. A guest character that no one asked for would be taking the spot of an already anticipated guilty gear character. I’m not sure how many people understand that we’re likely getting 5 seasons of extra guilty gear strive characters. That is A LOT. 99% of anime games, including older guilty gears, got 1 season pass with 2-4 characters and then maybe a new version (like sign to xrd) that would add another 2-3 characters and that was IT. Mind you, this was over the span of 3-5 years. If even one of those 7~ characters was a guest character and your favorite legacy character didn’t make it back, you either had to pray they announced another season pass with the new version of the game, ANOTHER revision, or just wait for a the new game entirely and who knows when that would come out. Guest characters often break the game they’re added to as well. They’re not meant for the game they’re being shoved into, so the devs often take liberties with their kit that they wouldn’t with legacy characters. Baiken in Samsho 7 is the perfect example.
I've been a fan of strive and wanted to play for the longest time. I've been waiting for an Evo sale to pull the Trigger and get the game. As soon as I saw Lucy was the season 4 dlc I got the game and season pass. People can say that she's the wrong choice but it literally did work on some people.

How does she fit GG? She is a hacker and GG is a world where electricity-based tech was banned after humans encountered some hostile Singularity (or whatever it was called) there - - something like hostile AI. That's why they went all in on magic once it was brought up and why the world can still look mostly modern. Lucy's skills are DANGEROUS to all of humanity. Lucy does not fit. Besides GG does not need guest chars in the first place :(
2024 and uncle Daisuke is still making some GODLIKE artwork. Holy shit. Also, I was expecting Jiyuna to be upset that the first guest character in GGST isn't Ragna or another Blazblue character

Usually against guests but I think Lucy is super cool and fitting. Im also really curious about Unika. I think Gabriel would be hype. Dont care about 3v3. Truth be told i havent played for almost 2 years. Dont care about 3v3. the match making/lobby is such a drag. Fix that and ill be back
I've been called upon to make an announcement: Shadow the hedgehog is a Wait wrong announcement I partly disagree, Jam should be in the game and I hope for a Season 5 just so she can be in.
I was there at EVO, I got sick as well while I was there, I was in the arena, no voice, had a cold that was trying to bring down my vibes. Sat in the arena all day watching finals. Lucy comes on the screen and I fucking scream at the top of my lungs. My sickness may have wrecked me all weekend but in that moment, the amount of hype I felt overcame everything that was bringing me down. I’m so hyped for Lucy and I’m also a giant Edgerunners fan boy. I think the only thing that would have made it better and make me burst out in tears, would have been if they played the fucking song (I really want to stay at your house)!
