Lovely constructive Reaction from someone who knows what they are talking about. As a NON-SINGER of 81 years of age I have never seen such a MASSIVE improvement in singing skills from when she appeared on ' The Voice Kids' some years ago. Lucy is such a breath of fresh air in a turbulent world!!! She has brightened my world since Covid and long may she continue to do so. Thanks again for your reaction.

Today, Lucy Thomas and her incredible Voice is Recognized around the World. Lucy doesn't copy music, she Improves it.... How do you make a great song better ??? Let Lucy Perform it in typical Lucy Thomas gusto. She owns every song she performs and soon, we forget who or when the original was created. I have never heard any singer with as much dynamic range as Lucy Thomas. Regardless where she starts on the scale, Lucy never runs out of breath, pitch, or vibrato. Her word pronunciation is so clear, we never have to wonder what she just said. When I was 19, I was a performer too. I sang this same song a cappella live on stage. I was pretty good. But, I never achieved Lucy's level of perfection. She touches our eyes, ears, and hearts. She takes us to higher places we could only dream about before. Just when we think Lucy can't possibly get better, she proves us all wrong. Her full throttle crescendo at end and stunning vocal runs both ways up/down scale leaves us wanting more. Lucy has complete Mastery of her Voice. Lucy Thomas has 'Arrived'...

Trivia time! Did you know Lucy’s full name is Lucy Charlotte Willow Thomas and that she shares a birthdate with Charlotte Church who, famously called a popular UK TV magazine show and sang Pie Jesu (brilliantly) when she was just 11 😇

I made a statement somewhere online that Simon and Garfunkel were great story tellers. Most of their songs told a story. But Lucy tells the story in a way that it touches your heart and soul. So many of her songs do that in a way, that the original composer does not. We love our Lucy. And I love your in depth reactions. Thank You

That is lucy in the picture.......... Everything you have said is exactly what I have noticed.... I've sang all my life, but professionally for only a short while) and can hear all the things you mentioned... the control she has is phenomenal, her sound is God given, the clarity of her voice, the breath control....... Everything together makes her voice my favorite voice to listen to... I love to listen to many people sing, but they must have a great voice for me to enjoy it.... Lucy ticks all the boxes.... I hope the best for her.... She is going to grow and go so far... I found Lucy at 14, so I have been enjoying her voice for 5 years... She has her whole life ahead. I grew up in the 70's, so sang all these songs when they first came out, when first written, so I find it so wonderful when a young person sings these oldies... 😊..... (What a great time the 70's was....)

Thank you for playing Lucy. I’ve listened to her for 7-8 months now WOW WOW WOW she nails everything. Lucy has the MIDAS TOUCH . The Golden touch where everything she touches turns to gold. Her voice is like the tide ongoing from the ocean, continually seemingly endless n starting small , in lower tones with perfection … then that voice is like the tide rising to The PERFECT VOICE- HIGH, Full of Power but controlled to perfection n the sound ringing in our ears. I get a shiver each time I listen but the hairs on my arms are standing to attention. She makes the world such a better place to live in. I’m 70 n feel blessed that I can hear her in my time n not 20 years later! I’ve become “ LUCI- FIED where my day isn’t right if I don’t hear at least one song. Lucy Thomas is the true spirit of music! Cherish her, for you will not see the likes of her again! LOL As far as the opinion on embellishment in-between the composers lyrical breaks Lucy has no need to embellish or fill in the natural pauses. Her persona envelopes the musical score completely, they become one. The songs melodic phrasing and Lucy's graceful movement together are like a romantic couple intertwined in a waltz. Lucy's eyes draw the audience to her like a hypnotists suggestion and bind them to her completely mesmerized. Be forewarned Lucy Thomas has no rabbits hole to go down. It is more like a immense BLACKHOLE that draws you and your heart in, with no way out.........................ever! peace and happiness

when she was 15 lucy performed live and sang "I know where I've been" from "hairspray". I was blown away by her, even still immature, lower registry: It was warm and soulfull I would be delighted to listed to her sing the same song now. She will be absolutely wonderful and mindblowing.

Juliet, I have admired Lucy's breath control for a long time. Many reactors have mentioned it; even asking does she ever stop for a breath. In one of my thoughts (can't remember the piece) I mentioned that Lucy blows right past where many stop for a breath and continues on for a while before breathing. Truly, here in the finale, she pulled some notes. I believe that technique, as-well-as finishing or completing notes, results in the smooth and peaceful feeling of her renditions. Many other females I have watched don't finish notes or words but stop short (for breath?) and leave a lot of dead air. So, between completing tones/notes, her superb vibrato, and her excellent diction she's a lot, all wrapped up in one package. Through chills, tears, and emotions yanking at my chest, I still keep coming back. I agree with Wilbur, that your reactions are very knowledgeable and thorough. I can't wait for your reaction when Lucy puts out a new one. Thanks for supporting her.

Juliet, about Lucy's extended phrasing and breath control, I love it when she blows right past where most would break for a breath. I don't know where she stores all that air but it contributes to the smoothness of her renditions. She has a video on her channel where she was interviewed on TV in Ireland. Then she did a live version of "Never Enough" right there in the TV studio. And I noticed she did the same thing. She did a somewhat powerful phrase, held onto the note, then dropped down and sang even more before breathing. She's amazing.

Some of Lucy’s mid song montages defiantly add something, my two favourites are the video in the ‘bridge’ of “All by myself” (I assume it’s Lucy!) and especially the photo montage in “You raise me up” one of several moments in that song where I seem to get something in my eye every time 😮

Yes I’d say that’s Lucy walking on the beach at (I think) Ainsdale beach. My favourite is in ‘Fix You’ where Lucy is at the base of Pigeon Tower at Rivington.

i guess it was a production decision to record this "clean" for her album, because after seeing her sing live, its quite interesting to see how she not only sounds exactly the same as her studio versions, but also adds in ad libs etc like you wanted

Juliet, thank you, thank you for emphasizing being a little conservative with ones voice. Right from the beginning of my journey with Lucy I noticed something about her singing. The song was "Memory" and in the latter part she did a wide open full-on belt at fairly high pitch. However I was amazed that with all the power and the high pitch, she wasn't screeching, we could still hear and understand the lyrics, and her beautiful vibrato was there. It amazed me. This was the genesis of my saying "Reach but no screech" which rings true through most of her renditions (mostly). I've lived a long time and have seen many singers with voice problems. So again thank you. Hopefully others will take the advice. (Sorry for the long dissertation).

Good job, Juliet. I grew up a huge S&G fan. Bridge Over Troubled Water was my very favorite song that they performed. I think Lucy did Art Garfunkel proud. I would never compare Art and Lucy because Art has a beautiful male voice and Lucy has a female voice that is without equal. Now if you compare Lucy to any other female vocalist covering this song, Lucy wins hands down. Although, from what I have heard, you are a top notch vocalist yourself. Juliet was the 20 th reactor to Lucy's BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATERS and well worth the wait, Your reacts are more than worth the time so educational and more than just "WOW" !!!! We all know that already but you tell us why !!! Great job !!! And thank you !!!

That’s right Wilbur, who’d imagine there was so much to singing. Juliet’s informed us a lot we didn’t know - well everything for me as I knew nothing and cannot sing a note. But interesting to learn how good a singer Lucy actually is so we can appreciate her more. Yes it’s been a very busy few days for Lucy’s supporters keeping up with all the many reactions, and reacting to the reactors. Good fun though. 🙂

Yes Juliet another great reaction and account, we have been waiting for it as you are now the main vocal coach expert on Lucy. 👍👏 I’m only a listener but I noticed as you did at the end Lucy sings for 13 seconds long from a single quick breath, and does all sorts during it. Garfunkel sung that in 2 breaths but with less intensity. Not a long time for a good singer to hold a note, but Lucy didn’t hold it, she sang varied and strong with it and belted all within that one breath for 13 seconds. Plus made it sound amazing. That's not to say Lucy couldn't do more or longer or with more power, she did only that what was required to fit the song. Just Wow! 😲🤯 I’d never imagine pop singers straining their vocal cords and needing surgery, I would have thought more so from proper singers or operatic etc. A lot of pop noise makers just seem to talk through a song these days.

I know in your case it will be worth it 😊 but right now we have at least 2 other reactors making us wait, one until the 16th of December! I’ll take it as their acknowledgment that Lucy has a legion of loyal supporters!

Colinhea Well you are going to have to pick up the pace of notifying reactors of Lucys song the administration banned me from commenting for a month. a top 10% contributor to the channel because they did not like my comment on pie jesu, so if I cannot comment I will not promote, and there nis no way to even appeal or contact the administration, really discouraging so guess I will find some one else to help promote if they don't like the truth !!!

Hi,what a lovely review of Lucy’s performance,thank you for that,her videos are obviously well set up…but Lucy’s pure talent is there to carry it off. I am retired and find that i cannot listen to most modern singers these days,I am more a traditional ballad type person and do not care for split or yodel type notes in songs..so she is one of the few that suits my taste Thank you .Roly🇬🇧.

Juliet, about the long vocal pause: another singer, a year ago, did the same basic arrangement with the long instrumental section twice with no images to carry the theme. But, Lucy was not idle during the first long instrumental, she is swaying some, and tilts her head at the perfect spot. To me it looks as if she is enjoying the piano interlude. I will admit it seems a bit long but she's not bored, just admiring the music. That's my non-pro thought.

Juliet, in a previous video you asked which Lucy song should be next. I, along with several others, asked you to check out 'Memory". Is it on your list yet? That video was my introduction to Lucy. It grabbed me and I immediately subscribed to her channel. I jump right to each one she releases.

Lucy is pure and genuine. She does not need to use any gimmicks. Her voice is gold, unlike any I've ever heard. And her inner and natural outer beauty is a rarity. As I have said before, Lucy is in a class of her own unmatched by anyone.

Juliet - I think you once mentioned that you would like to hear Lucy and her sister, Martha sing Pie Jesu - well they have, and it’s on Lucy’s new album, BEYOND. The full album, including Pie Jesu, is on Lucy’s RU-vid channel, although the video version has not yet been uploaded. The audio is - as you might have expected - beyond imagining in its beauty and power. I would hope that you have the opportunity to listen to and review this performance.
