Only £1.5 million spent on defence, with no expert witnesses called in defence compared to at least double that spent on prosecution court fees, which of course included expert witness testimony..... does the money come into it?
You do not have to be sure that Lucy Letby is innocent or guilty to believe that this case deserves a serious and thorough re-examination by the courts
"If like me you are British patriot and believe that this country is even now more just than any other, you have a special duty to be vigilant when that reputation is in doubt." Peter Hitchens

I think the prosecution deliberately chose lots of crazy methods of murder that never have been used before so that there were no experts to contradict the theories. There are no experts in killing by over-feeding milk, or using a nasogastric tube as a lethal weapon, or injecting air into the stomach, because it's never happened before. If you have lots of murder methods, you need lots of expert witnesses to challenge them. So the defence decided not to bother challenging the crazy theories with a medical expert. The mistake was not to have a toxicologist to challenge the insulin evidence, because that was the only plausible method, which has been used before. The judge told the jury that if they believed Letby had used insulin, they could assume that she had attacked them in other ways as well. That seems like an outrageous think for a judge to say. They all deserve a drop in salary.

There is no evidence of insulin being misused. The defence should never haver accepted this as being factual. The defence was poorly managed.

Just joined - thanks for your videos and your efforts in pursuing this. I also follow those of Carl. Perkins which are also great. Carl thinks a civil action against Evans and others for perjury or perverting the course of justice would not be possible - it would need to be a private prosecution. I'm not a lawyer but it seems the civil action route would be speedier if possible and the burden of proof is less than in a criminal case. I would support a crowd funded action whichever option is chosen. What are your thoughts?

What do you think about these two pieces of evidence from the trial? I wasn't at the trial either. Medical documents: Police found 257 confidential medical documents in Letby's home, many related to the babies she had hurt or killed. Caught in the act: A doctor caught Letby displacing the breathing tube of a baby girl in the neo-natal unit at the Countess of Chester Hospital in February 2016. Thanks for sharing.

@tasha24-7 3 часа назад
@@thomaspurdy7456 morning and thanks for the question Thomas...the opposite point of view regarding the paperwork, would be someone trying desperately hard to figure out what was causing the deaths. Those documents did not erase the babies medical history from the hospital..nor what happened to them.. she could have also been starting to suffer from paranoia at that stage... I mean she was being blamed and bullied so she might have started checking and rechecking her own work... a medical OCD..... I wouldn't trust any one of those Drs, nor a single word they say, let alone allow them to care for babies unsupervised.... they are proven liars and bullies.... I wouldn't be surprised if it is their own malpractice and low standards in the Dock..... the couldn't even perform basic and routine procedures like tubing, cannulation, intubation... and that was in a ward scenario..... I wouldn't be surprised if there was a problem with the way the tubing was put in... which is more likely to have caused bleeding..... and its quite normal to see blood here and there... the babies will move the tubes themselves... if it wasn't positioned correctly to begin with.... but I'm sure the post mortem would have picked up any 'damage'... the Dr probably just made it up.... no one else saw it.... and she had won a grievance against them.... those Dr's who are being treated as if their word us their bond.... waited a year and a half to report their suspicions..... the only thing they care about exposing is their own incompetence..... those poor families, its heartbreaking... and Lucy's poor parents it must be devastating for them.

All nurses should be giving a lot of thought to whether they continue as nurses. Do people realise that Dewi Evans supports the legalisation of paedophilia. Not sure that this reflects well on his character.
@SuperBoomslang
@SuperBoomslang День назад
@@francishooper9548 I'd be interested to know how you know that (I'm not doubting it). I find that whatever the prosecution accuse Letby of is actually true of themselves in some way, for example, 'weaponising medical knowledge'. Evans has definitely abused his authority as a doctor, the question is, how badly has be done this? Someone should investigate thoroughly.

Many poker players can't throw away their pair of 10s, when they should, because they have put too much in the pot. The only way to justify spending so much money, was to prove she is guilty.

@@tasha24-7 This is why i used the pair of 10s. A pair of tens could be a good hand, and the theory of Lucy being guilty, of the things she is accused, could be a valid theory. You get to a certain point, in both cases, where you must make the decision of abandoning everything you have invested, because your tens aren't worth anything, or the evidence is indicating it is unlikely she did commit the crimes, or continue investing more. Just as poker players convince themselves their pair of tens still stands a chance of winning, the Chester police convinced themselves the "Lucy did it all theory" still stands a chance of being true. It's then cognitive bias that kicks in, which causes them to deform reality to convince themselves and everyone else involved, that she really did do it. You should address the difficulty many doctors have acknowledging reality, in the case of complex health issues, the process is identical. They will deform reality to avoid accepting their lack of understanding. Between convincing themselves the patients problems "are in their head" and convincing themselves "Lucy did it" there is absolutely no difference whatsoever in the mechanisms at play. The doctors told the police they had a pair of aces, they had convinced themselves of this, because of their inability to face reality. The evidence showed it wasn't a pair of aces, but by the time they were able to establish this, they had invested far too much to throw them away.
