📣It's soon the moon festival! 🌖🌙🌕
This year, it will take place on October 1 according to the lunar calendar. It is a festival that brings family and friends together, and except from enjoying the full moon, people eat a kind of dessert called moon-cake for this occasion.
The moon cake was e created in China around 900 AD. At first, it was only for nobles and people who passed the national exam, but as time passed by, in 14 century, the Moon Cake started to be popularized and really consumed by the normal citizens. Its shape is often round, which represents the reunion of family and friends. Today I would like to share with you one of the traditional Taiwan's moon cakes, Ludopong.
Ludopong was created in Taiwan in the 1980s. In Taiwan there is also the salty version, but I chose the sweet version which is my grandmother's favorite for sharing you!
