The subathon was crazy, I was trying to explain it to my mom and she was like "he was actually live for a whole month?". It just wasn't clicking in her head lol
Lol I feel that I’ll try to explain to my dad about stuff like this and he just dosent really understand or just ignores me lol. He’s pretty hip and cool he just not caught up on this new generation
It’s cool how plays evolved into movies which evolved into tv and now finally this. I wonder what insane shit our kids will watch because this is fire lol
I get u soo good because these are still good entertainment channels but .... There was time 1. When pewds used to game 2. Jack was green pewds 3. Dude perfect was a trick channel 4. Mark used to shout like hell and get so mad at games I mean that was time I would go back to And I still think of lud syk toast are already talking about stopping some day what would be left of RU-vid and twitch😂😂😂😂😂
Clearly as soon as Ludwig left, he also left a huge void in the Twitch-Meta that was soon to be filled with... water. To be precise. Water... in hot tubs. With individuals in the water that is in the hot tub. Ludwig caused the Hot Tub Meta, get him boys, get HIM!
I understand how people got emotional at the end of it. It's like getting attached to elementary teachers, and crying at your graduation. Although our relationship with Lud is parasocial, it changed people's schedules drastically, having people sleep and wake up to Ludwig's stream, like the mods. I enjoyed the stream a shit ton, and I'm glad I was there to experience most days o7
@Bad_Script Oh, so I should just spend the 15 dollars I don't have to get them delivered? I can't even afford my rent payment right now, how the hell am I supposed to afford a grocery delivery?
0:48 this is patently untrue, Showvideogames did a month long stream in late 2013 going from 20 viewers to several thousand overnight. They then did a subathon in mid 2014 (pre gift subs) which only ended because they'd already set a hard limit on a day they needed to leave for an event Not taking away any credit from Ludwig for what he did, but giving it elsewhere that it's due!
I remember the Dream thing happening. There was no chance he was letting it end. The man literally went live just to get ppl to gfts subs lmaooo... good times :,)
it ended at like 6 am my time and I set an alarm so I can watch the last 15 minutes, even tho I barely watched any of the stream I still felt like a part of it and teared up at the end, thank you, still not friends tho, I would never hang out with a short guy
I've got to say, my favorite streamers and RU-vidrs are the ones who never try to hide that they make bank and want to keep making bank off everyone, it's so endearing because it's both truthful and funny as hell at the same time 😂
I was there for almost the whole thing, i fell asleep watching, i cried at the end. It was the best experience ever. woke up to mod chat, got to watch ludwig content all day while i worked. Was amazing. Thank you ludwig.
Was looking for a comment like this! I wasn’t there for it either, but I feel like it would’ve been like living through a part of internet history! Plus being able to say you partook in that?! A dream. And I doubt anyone will ever do it again, to that extent, with it having the same impact.
Lud was asking who cried at the end of the stream, and I was like "I'm crying right now! Of course I cried at the end of the stream :(" And then Lud was also emotional at the end of the stream which made me feel emotional
I like him, just started watching and he seems to acknowledge "Hey, this a job, it's cool but y'all are still money". He's not a dick about it but he makes it clear what it is. It's like using someone for sex but stating it from day 1
It's hard not to cry when completing something this big. I cried from my biggest act on twitch thus far which lasted a week, and I don't get viewers. My largest stream for the week was 12 viewers at the same time, but it averaged to 5 viewers for the entire stream. I'm trying another thing, but my stream refuses to start up.
i loved the subathon. seeing him live everytime i turn on twitch, made me happy as an eu frog. because i could always catch his stream. Sadge that there wont be another one.
18:23 I like that he takes this route instead. Respect for keeping it real, and not shying away from the fact that he makes a butload of money on this.
I miss the subathon man. I dont consume a lot of twitch since i usually want to watch streams at random times. The subathon was sick since it was always going for a whole month. It was just a great time. Thanks for that Lud, mods, trucker Slime, and everybody else who was a part of making it happen. Truly glad i was here for this Edit: Go birds
It would be really cool if you made videos for some of the moments in the subathon. It would be really cool to see the best of the mod time or a whole video or 2 on slime time.
the fact that it needs to be highlighted that ludwig is on his job streaming and is only brought to light in one of the greatest moments of his carrier by the public media
tbh, the end of the subathon gave end of unus annus vibes. both times we were watching the clock tick down as the end of something amazing (revolutionary dare i say) came to an end, and it was super emotional.
I didn’t cry at the end of the sunbathon. But I still took a hit in the feels that it ended, similar to finishing a show that your really invested in. Just a feeling of what do I do now
At the end of the subathon Ludwig sits back in his chair “crying beautifuly” and a single man tear from the supernatural musical starts playing in the background
I've been meaning to look into what the subathon was and the impact it had and what really went down because I know just how monumental it was, but I just wasn't in the loop. It was like finding out about Unus Annus the day it died. This was good though. EDIT: Wait did you watch through VGHS?
I hope someone rolls up and just goes “Alright guys so we’re going to do a subathon a bit similar to Ludwig’s, it’s 20 second per donation” And then it just crashes in less than a minute
