well, I was rooting for the holy blade, but I was expecting the accursed to win since he is way more aggressive

I predict Ludwig the Holy Blade to win as even though he isn’t as aggressive, his attacks/strategy are mostly tactical and precise whilst Ludwig the Accursed , despite being more offensive, would miss some of his attacks due to how wild they are. Not to mention Ludwig the Holy Blade has better reach due to his weapon and doesn’t get staggered as easily as Ludwig the Accursed. Oh and also who could forget those AoEs that the AI needs to be intelligent enough to avoid , another factor that gives Ludwig the Holy Blade an advantage. I believe the only reason we as the player struggle with Ludwig the Accursed is because how big he is compared to us , so we can’t control the fight and his aggression . This element of difficulty gets taken away when a stronger and larger (and more tactical) opponent is in place , which will cause Ludwig the Accursed to not be as successful in his attacks or the opponent to be completely overrun by his aggression. With these reasons , I believe Ludwig the Holy Blade is likely to be the victor. Let’s see though who shall remain victor in the end! Edit : It was a lot closer than I thought it would be! + Also that finishing move that Ludwig the Holy Blade did looked so damn epic!!!!!

He was definitely one of the most memorable fights in Bloodborne. As in, I died to this guy so many times I had to memorize his entire moveset

This is a masterpiece! Imagine this being played in nanoseconds inside Ludwig head when he enters his second phase. I knew the Holy Blade would win, but the Accursed fought better than I thought. The cake was when Ludwig prepared his charge huge sword attack, not only in perfect time with the music, but also cutting through the Accursed arcane blow , as if the holyness was clearing the impure path . 0:14 Love how the Accursed starts the fight with his leap attack at you, but the Holy Blade goes straight for him as if to defend you, the hunter defending others from the beast. 0:44 The Holy Blade interrupts the Accursed's charge attack with his signature combo attack, pretty lit if I say so myself 0:52 The Accursed backs up to give himself more space for his ranged attack, whilst the Holy Blade charges his heavy ranged attack and interrupts the beast's attack 1:30 I like how you timed the Holy Blade's theme to synchronize with his massive charge attack, I had been waiting for him to use it the entire fight and the song helped make the payoff that much sweeter 1:58 the Accursed perfectly countered the Holy Blade's heavy attack by leaping into the air, avoiding the damage from his attack and punishing him for missing In the end I think what really allowed the Holy Blade to overcome the Accursed was the fact that not ONCE were any of his attacks interrupted, if they had been the Accursed would've easily taken the cake. I have a newfound respect for this boss and character in general from watching these two fight, it really emphasizes how stalwart the man was to his ideals and humanity before he was ultimately undone by the beastial nature he had been trying to deny for so long.

I like to think of this as Ludwig fighting his beastial side during our fight with him, and when we reach the point of the fight where he switches over is when he wins his interal struggle, and remember who he once was, now the the fight is no longer one between man and beast, but one between hunters!

This is unquestionably the greatest boss vs boss I've seen on RU-vid. It's just the right length. The MUSIC! The battlefield solidifying the lore friendly explanation of inner turmoil. The fighters' attacks are properly aimed at each other. The simultaneous charging up to trade their biggest blows is so epic. Accursed jumping over that sweep. Accursed acting like a feral beast. But most of all... Holy Blade displaying the resolve, composure, and strength of a man who was utterly broken, looked unimaginable horrors in the face, stared down his demons, and said "I am who I choose to be. You have no power over me". I have never played BB myself, but Ludwig's transformation is one of the most powerful moments in all of gaming, and media in general.

Ludwig: A knight will NEVER be defeated by a mere BEAST... even if said knight... has forgotten... it's... humanity...

I feel like Ludwig's original arena would've been more fitting for this battle.

I feel that Accursed Ludwig was handicapped here. He's without his ceiling, and that is a dangerous and painful move. I don't know that it would be a huge difference, but it would allow access to all of his moves.

I just noticed something: all of their attack animations release blood. That must be because, in their original arena, they would kicking blood with their every move, so they just made it a part of their attacks.

The fact that seeing his HMS restored his consciousness makes you think if the same could be done for the other beasts

Probably one of the most fun boss fights in the game. First phase wasn’t as unpredictable for me as it seems for others, though. The jumps always put me on edge back when I played lol

Great quality! It's nice to be able to just sit from a distance and enjoy the gorgeous boss animations. Also a good choice of environment since you can see how big they are without having any part of them obscured.
