Machines like this might help in the Canadian wild fires because they could help cool the fire from the rear and allow fire fighting in front of the fire to be effective. A good deal of the problem with wood fires is that you reach a temperature where everything starts to flash over. By cooling the fire down, you could greatly slow its progress. These are good in chemical fires because a direct hit with a hose will just spread the flammable liquid and make the fire worse. Cooling down the steel keeps it from melting and collapsing, creating the potential for a much larger fire.
I am so happy and feel so safe that the youtubers know it so much better. Have we forgotten the gulf war oil fires already. I guess yes, because the majority of that all knowing godlike youtubers weren't born yet. The Russians used jet engines mounted in a tank and connected high pressure water hoses at the exhaust tube where usually the afterburners are. It worked, it worked big time, especially in oil fires. This is just the miniature version of it. American fire fighters use a motorized fan, similar to the ones used to blow up a hot air balloon, at home fires. Despite of adding a lot of oxygen to the fire, they create a massive flow of air in the home that cool down the area so much that it prevent combustion of things that are not on fire yet. Also the hot and inflammable gasses into the thick smoke is blown out of the house and keep the fire from expanding even more or rising the temperature inside the home. Thank God for the wisdom of the famous youtubers "know it all" knowledge. What would the world be without them? Well probably on fire from a to z......
+eggcockroach It also cools the surrounding area, diminishes fuel vapour and does a good job of water penetration. You did see the part where the thermal camera showed a small heat source?
yandere-chan it's not suppose to it blows cold wet air onto a fire as to cool it down and stop spreading because you can't just shoot water onto a chemical fire it will just spray the flammables everywhere
GunsOfPlentyNZ It's blowing cold wet air which will supress 2/3 of the fire triangle. You do not know what you are talking about. Pop down to your local fire brigade and get them to give you a lesson n the fie triangle. Oxygn doesn't burn ...it aids in combustion. Please do some research.
