It's no surprise that the antagonist (so far) is exploiting the Legends of Nika for their own personal gain. But the real question we should ask is whether or not the SH can really expose the imposter for the fraud they are. Because I am not so sure that having Luffy shift into Gear 5th & beating the false God in front of everyone may change anything. However, I can see it as a good opportunity for Luffy to finally learn about what his DF power really is, and how he'll properly use it to convince everyone that he is the true wielder of the Legendary Zoan of Liberation!

There was another version Loki (Skymir of the Outlands) was also known to create illusions. Aside from the stereotypical god of mischief. Plus, he also a giant pet cat, and the room signifys a realm from the World Tree that takes place within Elbaf's royal palace. In other's, Loke could just be doing this Sun God thing as some sort of role playing (Playing Pretend) hobbie to pass the time. Meaning, that he is could be some sort of geek when it comes to the whole concept of the Sun God.

I’m personally not super invested on the current storyline going on. It just feels like the type of way how a filler arcs from the anime starts off. I also kind of wish Chopper was with the other straw hat crew. He kind of ruins the dynamic from the original 5 East Blue saga crew that I was hoping to see more of. I hope the others get a side arc like how Egghead had but with them as the primary focus.

I feel like the sun god is gonna be an exposition device in the near future. Seeing Luffy in gear 5 he may tell Luffy the truth about Nika or maybe he's apart of a group of warriors that worship Nika. In my mind it's a set up to give Luffy the history of the world since he is oblivious and doesn't even know what his own devil fruit actually is.

what if the sun god they're referring to is loki pretending to be this mystery person, and the actual sun god would be maybe his father. because loki has impersonated odin before, so it makes sense. and if loki's father is the sun god, he could be the man marked by flames. somewhere out on the sea, he has an all black ship, and he uses some ability to mask it
