I love the fact that the Gear Fourth OST sounds like overwhelming power, carrying almost a sinister tone to it which would fit with a Crocodile-esque villain unleashing his massive army or superweapon, but the whole thing is complemented with innocent strings and heroic horns showing it's still Luffy.
To me this ost gives a feeling of justice being ready to be served the trumpets add so much personality to this ost it gives the vibe of a whole military preparing for war
@@torchlight1785 It's a massive side effect. He's mostly there for the fights, since he's a battle maniac. It's true that he does have a good heart and does genuinely want to help people but he's mostly just there for the bruisin'.
Id be fucking terrified lmao, seeing someone inflate their arm Into a massive arm which turns red, and his intimidating fucking pose would be enough to make me faint
EtheriousKami crocs sounds like a shorter version of the word crocodile who was the main antagonist in the alabasta arc which is similar to the doressrosa arc ( I probably spelled that wrong ) with the main antagonist being a warlord of the sea trying to destroy a kingdom/island Hope it makes sense now
I feel like this theme, along with the transformations it brings, is the version of Luffy the newspaper talks about. This gigantic, chaotic figure who's nigh unstoppable looks like the face and body of a man worth 1.5 billion berries. In other words, this is Emperor Luffy's Theme.
Totally agree. Thought i was the only who noticed that luffy gear 4th gives a different vibe. A vibe of a king who gets shits done and doesn’t play around like regular luffy does
Listening to the little march drum-line, I like to imagine it as Luffy's heartbeat. Like him being so close to pushing to his peak, but not quite being there yet. Just a quiet march of freedom, a drum sounded by the heart of a warrior, but not yet a true liberator.
Don’t get me wrong. I love Drums of Liberation as much as everyone else, but 4th Gear felt way more intimidating, and I dare even say scary. Drums of Liberation feels more like “The moment you’ve all been waiting for”, while 4th GEAR theme feels more like “You’re about to see something you’re not supposed to!” It’s personal preference at the end of the day though 🙌
Gear 4th is one of my favorite, if not favorite, anime transformations. Whereas most transformations are just passive, i.e. Eren Jeagar Titan transformation, Super Saiyan, Naruto's nine tails mode, etc., Luffy creates this transformation actively by blowing air into his muscles and inflating himself and then also applying the busoshoku haki to select parts of his body.
I absolutely love how the soundtrack catches the bouncing of Luffy on the ground while at the same time gives an intense feeling that he became something which is in no way inferior to a whole army.
“Woah-woah! Is this some kind of joke? You got quite big... Look at that inflated body of yours! I thought you had some secret stratagem or something... Can’t you be more serious?!” “This is my secret stratagem and I am serious!”
It was good to use this when Katakuri realized that Luffy's Observation Haki was getting closer and closer to his level. It was like foreshadowing Snakeman 5 episodes later with this track.
One of my favorite OSTs from the series. Kohei Tanaka outdid himself with this one. Build up and the grandeur. While not my favorite in terms of aesthetics, the track does a great job conveying Gear fourth power and what it means.
@@prizma45 No need with the degenerate word. Almost all episodes for the last 3-4 years has been constantly shit quality with some great scenes here and there. 870 was actually good for once.
OSO - AB nah they really don’t tho, it’s only happened at the end of part 1 or whatever of the wano arc, those final episodes were pretty good and especially the episode before the Kaido fight when luffy punched his dragon form, that episode was probably one of the best eps in all of one piece
True I think compared to almost every other anime, One Piece's ost fits the world perfectly. Now I personally like other ost musically speaking, but One Piece ost are just amazing when you know the story behind each ost. The ost fits very well for this piratish era.
@@marvinnatividad4184 kaido and gear 5th were pretty evenly matched its just gear 5th was a bit stronger and it has that cartoonish stuff that saved luffy like 9 times
The reveal of fourth gear with this ost playing was true genius. It's powerful and imposing yet heroic. Which fits the whole situation against Doflamingo and the birdcage. Something powerful and imposing needed to appear that could counter Doflamingo and his evil grasp
I love how the smoke in Gear 4th vaguely resembles the zoan fruits awakening feature, and yet his fruit in that form hasn't completely awakened. From what I've noticed, every awakened zoan we've seen so far has that weird thing around them. In Luffy's awakened Gear 5th form, it's complete. It was a little hint that Luffy isn't actually Paramecia, but of course we hadn't seen any awakened zoans before Luffy's awakening. MANGA SPOILERS: Lucci, Kaku, and St. Saturn all have that swirly thing.
GOMU GOMU NO "I'll never forget the taste of that Sweet Red-bean soup and the Apple that I had today for the rest of my life !" *ELEPHANTO GATLING* Kaido gets pumelling
@@flarethefox9836 yeah but its not about catching up, its about the jouirney, and since we were in a pandemic staying inside all day i decided why not lol, u can also read the manga if u want its faster. but i enjoyed all the episodes since i was so bored.
