Vivi is very disillusioned here. There's millions of rebells aiming for a kill and Croco boi throwing oil in the fire and she is aiming that no one is going to die. Even Luffy knows that they need a plan. They can't fullfill the mission with 0 casulties and kudos for Luffy to actually point it out.
Luffy is an idiot but he's very intelligent when it comes to emotional intelligence and understanding the key points of a situation. Vivi can stop Koza by herself, they don't need to be with her. They could help much more by going directly after Crocodile, since as Luffy says, it's him that needs to be stopped in the first place, not the rebel army. But Vivi is unwilling to risk anyone's life except for her own, and Luffy reminds her that avoiding so many deaths just by risking her own life is too convenient, she needs to risk their lives as well. About the punch, Luffy never really cared about not hitting women, if he would hit a man in a situation, he would hit a woman as well.
I would just like to comment that luffy, in fact, did not lose the plot, but vivi did. he always knew what the main objective/plot is. I think you wont get the true essence of luffys character until later. just like how vivi taught luffy in drum island to bow down to common folk, luffy teaches vivi something here that she needs help in
I think they get it, but it's just shocking to see the protagonist punch a woman in the face. Being shocked that the protagonist punched a woman in the face is pretty valid
Great react, Luffy was right, Vivi innocently thought she would save everyone, Luffy saw that Crocodile had already started this whole conflict, he needs to fall as soon as possible, and made her see that they are here to risk their lives for her, she as a princess has to learn to move the pieces she has, even if it means losing someone in these difficult times, Luffy is literally teaching her to be someone of authority in the kingdom
11:55 Sanji didn't hit her, she just got hit by the pillow and he started running. And she was smiling because she finds them endearing and felt like part of the crew.
Luffys' hands are rated E for everyone, but also, let's not fortget vivi swung first 😂 Also luffy didnt loose the plot but vivi did by trying to save every little thing she see and luffy wants to finish off the biggest threat which is Crocodile and luffy believes if he does that then all the problems will stop.
Its been many, many episodes and was only mentioned on the side so absolutely no shade, but the reason Sanji was able to pretend to be Mr 3 was because Crocodile and Mr 3 (or any agent outside of Miss All Sunday for that matter) had never spoken via phone. Crocodile IS actually really careful and smart, so in an effort to circumvent "wire tapping" (snail tapping lol) any orders sent and other communication was via the Unluckys (Mr 13 and Miss Friday) The first time he then used a snail, it was not only Sanji on the other end, but it also DID get picked up by the Navy. Feels bad man :D
To be fair, Vivi hit him first. Does that justify Luffy hitting back? No. But he needed to bring a point across and he was doing it by talking before he got smacked. Can't really blame Luffy alone for this one. Edit: Also Hype Miss All Sunday Waifu
I really like Luffy's character. He behaves like an idiot, he laughs, he does stupid things, but when he gets serious and has to act, he does it and stands out considerably.
This is actually my favorite moment of Luffy so far. He's such a simple person, he saw right through the bullshit and got through the heart of the matter. Like Luffy said, stopping the rebels won't stop Crocodile, so why not just go straight to him? Moreover, he's clueless in a lot of things but in battles and fights? He knows the dangers of it and had to make Vivi know it too. I agree with Luffy with this. Someone might die, someone probably already did; the most important thing is to get to the biggest threat and eliminate it.
The thing about Luffy is that he may not be all that smart intellectually, but he is VERY smart emotionally. He did what he did with vivi because she’s taking the safe routes, even though she knows what has to be done. Luffy needed to crack her open in order to get her to not only loosen the burden on her shoulders, but also to acquire her full cooperation on bending the original plan.
Fun Fact: "Oh come my way" is the censored version of what Bon Clay's phrase is. Normally he says "Okama way". Okama being Japanese slang for a gay man who dresses feminine/cross-dresses. The reason this was censored is because of the time period these episodes were releasing in. It was releasing during the very early 2000's. Later in the series he says "Okama way" as he does normally due to homosexuality becoming more accepted.
It's not a censored version, it's a pun. Bon Clay makes lots of puns in his speech, like ending negative verbs with the English word "nothing" instead of the Japanese "nai"
@@itsnotrael I get it but Light spoiler so read at your own discretion: the Okama gets mentioned a lot later in the story so it’s better to establish it from now
This turn of events KILLED me 🤣🤣🤣 3:22 - "Yes... this is ME!" - Carlie meeting Ms. Merry Christmas 13:41 - "Shut UP!" - Carlie getting upset with her That impatience parallel is hilarious 🤣 Love you two, thanks for great reactions as always. 😁
Luffy's always understand which one the biggest challenge is. What's the main problem is. Luffy's understand, if we beat crocodile, the problem solved.
We saw earlier in the episode that Crocodile sent his Billions to intercept the Strawhats at Nanohana to prevent them meeting Koza in Katorea, so by changing the plan and going directly to Rainbase Luffy actually outsmarted Crocodile without even knowing lol
Not sure if anybody has pointed this out but mr 2 is actually not saying "oh come my way" but rather, "okama way". Okama being a slang term for a homosexual man in Japan
Oh come my way - Mr.2 was saying during the episode might also be heard as Okama way. I’ll leave you to google that if you’d like 😂 Mr. 2 is a legend though, no idea how Oda came up with him.
Miss All Sunday already becoming the waifu is absolutely fine. She is awesome! Looking forward to your reaction to the coming episodes and especially her role in all of this.
I found your guy's channel this year and can I just say that you guy's watching One Piece has been my favorite thing! I grew up watching One Piece with my sisters and we were never close, but we watched One Piece together and now we look out for each other just like the crew. These have been amazing videos and I hope you guy's keep at it. C: I am going to re-watch the entire series now XD
Luffy has a unique way of getting to the point. One thing I love about that final scene is the parallel it forms compared to Drum Island, where Vivi taught Luffy to bow his head and that not everything needs to be about fighting. Here, Luffy teaches Vivi another leadership quality: being willing to trust and risk the life of those your lead.
One piece literally starts with Luffy beating a girl into oblivion and no one bats an eye and as soon as Luffy beats Vivi, everyone's suddenly on their toes. Luffy will beat you if you are on the wrong. Frankly this scene with Luffy slapping Vivi is equal leadership learning for Vivi as it was for Luffy learning leadership in Drum kingdom. Luffy taught Vivi not to be naive and to be bold when the whole country and its people's lives are in danger. She was constantly moving away from the main issue in hopes of no one losing a life instead of cutting the head of the snake.
I was thinking if you should add a ‘favorite villain’ tier next to the ‘most wanted’ spot. You don’t really have a spot for villains that you like as characters for the story.
Y’all probably won’t read the manga, so here’s a fun little tidbit that isn’t a big spoiler. After the Alabasta arc, some former Baroque Works agents opened a small business called the New Spiders Cafe on an random island. The team includes Zala (Paula/Miss Doublefinger), Marianne (Miss Goldenweek), Babe (Mr. 4), Drophy (Miss Merry Christmas), Lassoo (the Dachshund), Gem (Mr. 5), and Mikita (Miss Valentine).
Yes she is frustrated about her loved one's and country being killed and luffy only thinking of beating the bad guy instead of saving the country, he really have all the right to punch her
Liking the format, guys. The SBS q's at the end are a little window inside the minds of the fans and author. TBH I think a little window is often times more than enough with the direction some of them take.
