I love how much luffy trusts his brother, no questions asked. Ace said "run I'll hold them off" and our stubborn never leave a man behind captain just gets to running. Ace's confidence combined with Luffy's complete faith in him brings me so much joy

I think Ace's devil fruit was foreshadowed when we first met him. Cause it was the only time drum islands' sky was clear and not clouded snowing (There will be more evidence on devil fruit powers affecting the users' surroundings like that later one)

The thing I always loved about this encounter with Ace: He just steps in to rescue Luffy in a "Nobody messes with my little brother"-way and Luffy doesn't question it for even a second. When Ace tells him to run, he does and isn't just a tiny bit worried any more. He just grins in a "Don't worry, my badass big brother has my back as always"-way. It's such a short scene but you learn so much about their bond and instantly fall in love with these two brothers. 🥰

One Piece pirates' names were based on real life pirates. In Ace's case, his name is most likely derived from Portuguese pirate Bartolomeu Português, who created the first "Pirate's Code". Oda said that in the real world, Luffy would be Brazilian. Portugal founded and colonized Brazil and now Ace is Luffy's big brother. No idea if Oda made this on purpose.

I think it has been said before, but these two pick up on the little clues in such a satisfying way. When the big revelations hit they are vindicated and it is just so much fun to watch them make smart, on-the-money guesses. Even when wrong they make a ton of sense. I'd love to see them react to a mystery series like Netflix's Wednesday.
