I assume longer videos = fewer videos per week, so I'm neutral on video length. As long as she continues her One Piece journey and doesn't feel overworked, I'm satisfied.
Ep 400 was a powerful moment for Robin. All her life she's been wanting to know about what happened in the void century and it's here being given in a silver platter. Yet she chose to stay with her family and decide to find out about it herself.
That's our CAPTAIN! 11:17 I also love this particular moment Nami and Sanji's faces scream "I want to make a move so badly, but I won't do so without my captain's permission" 15:22 This moment's great too. Law and Kidd going "That's my fellow Worst Generation Member right there" These longer videos are very much appreciated!
I'm caught up, I did NOT remember that line, and you should have SEEN my face when D------ that guy dropped the SMILEs line. I was like oh SHIT that early?!
I'm happy with the longer videos. I don't mind the wait. Fun fact, Rayleigh is 76 years old at this point of story, and he's 4 years older than Whitebeard (72)! It's pronounced "key-zar-roo". His name means "yellow monkey", and he's come to punish and capture the people who dare assaulted the Celestial Dragons, aka The Straw Hat Pirates!
I like how you mentioned Buggy when looking at Law's power. The way Law can separate people's bodies and how Buggy separates his own is very similar! Their Devil Fruit names are also one letter away from being the same. I won't say what Law's is because it wasn't revealed here tho 👍👍
I love watching people get to the mid point of OP, there is just so much emotion behind a huge chunk of these episodes, the reactions make me feel as if im watching through it for the first time
This was a turning point to me, i was watching one piece during pandemic and this moment made me watch it every single day and start researching for the manga. Luffy's stating to rayleigh that he wants to be the freest person in the world in this arc that is all about slavery and the opressions of the world government really got me, and then he after seing the horrors the celestial dragons do to the fishmen just because their ethnicity made me cheer harder for luffy and his journey to freedom!
The single most satisfying punch in the series has arrived! After all these years, it still makes me yell like a sports fan who's team just scored. Of all the "rival" captains we just met, Law instantly became my favorite. Idk if it was his power, the way he dressed, or the way he talked. The guy made me want a spinoff series following his journey up to that point. Gotta love how Luffy shut down the single greatest spoiler in the whole series. Usopp really out here trying to get the ending of One Piece spoiled for a few hundred million fans.
I remember reading somewhere that for "the punch," the studio let each animator have a frame of it so that they ALL could have a hand in bringing that punch to life. lol
Luffy punching the Celestial Dragon is one of those moments that EVERYONE looks forward to seeing reactors reach. It's so fucking satisfying. Luffy is like the embodiment of freedom and joy, ascending a set of stairs to Heaven to topple the false God that embodies oppression. So good!
Most of the people being sold were captured pirates, which is what distinguishes them from the wealthy commoners who are buying slaves or the Celestial Dragons. Some individuals like Camie are sold into slavery simply because Fish Men are a highly discriminated-against group in One Piece whos rights are frequently ignored, particularly by the upper class and ESPECIALLY by the Celestial Dragons. There is, as far as we are aware, nothing inherently biologically special about these people other than their particular royal heritage. Theyre just plain humans far as we can tell. It is purely social hierarchy
what I absolutely love about Luffy punching Charlos, is the fact Luffy could have let himself be hit by the bullets and bounced them back...but he purposefully avoided them
One of those moment in wich no one can say One Piece is a kids show... things turn sinister in Shabaody, giving us a taste of the true darkness of OP world (and our own...). BEST punch ever... you can taste Luffy´s rage in it.
The wildest part is that the slave auctioneer Mr Disco has an American accent. Listen to how he says BERRY or how he ends his sentences "...aREEmasen kaAA?"
Loved your reactions here. So many emotional payoffs in these episodes. Finally (even though it's only been a couple episodes) getting to see those Celestial Dragons getting the whoopin they deserved. Oda really has a talent for making us hate characters in record time and it shows here. I also tear up every time when Hachi starts blaming himself, poor guy was just trying to do the right thing! All the lore drops with Roger really ignite that tingling excitement that early One Piece gave us when they hooked us on the tales of these larger than life characters. It's also so heartwarming how almost every reactor knows exactly how Luffy is going to respond when Usopp puts his foot in his mouth. He's just trying to be as free as he can possibly be. Looking forward to your next few reactions for sure!
Yes longer videos please and just to let you know so you don't have to stop and get some make sure to have a lot of tissue ready for the next 5 episodes
I'm more for continuity amongst the "To Be Continued." Just the way they cliffhanger some of these episodes. You gotta sometimes watch 3-5, sometimes just 2. But of course, I'm always down to watch longer videos
Just knowing what I know now, being all caught up, and the whole journey we've been through up to this point, I couldn't help but tearing up all over again seeing them all meet up with Silvers. Rayleigh seeing Gol D. in Luffy and putting his confidence in him is such an endorsement. And Luffy's love for Shanks, and how all the dots/people connected as if it was fate. As well as Shakky becoming a fan. And Luffy being like "STFU" to Usopp. You know how much the adventure means to Luffy, and how he just wants to feel free more than anything. He's not one to want to reign over others in any kind of way, and that's a huge part of what makes him so admirable/lovable. GOAT MC! And yea, that punch is definitely one of the most satisfying moments in OP history. I could watch that ish on repeat. lol The celestial dragons are some reallllll POSs.
I love how infamous Luffy has became. He started as a no name in East Blue where everyone knew Zoro. Then when they entered the Grand Line, the Whiskey Peak bounty hunters thought Zoro was secretly the captain and the marines made a mistake. They get to Jaya and the pirates don't think his bounty is real since they never heard of him. Now we're past Ennies Lobby and everyone knows who Luffy is. There are other famous pirates who want to meet him just to confirm if he is as crazy as the rumors say he is.
The deeper you get into one piece, you realize how much Oda has reflected our real world realities into his one piece world. Slaves, auction houses, trafficking still exist worldwide for the elites/royals who participate. This arc had me feeling so much emotions (mostly anger and disgust). He’s so on the mark about it because he knows history. Even if things like this aren’t in our faces all the time, this is also our reality that some refuse to accept happens. You think you hate the world government now, girl just wait cause it dose get worse😭( terribly ironic considering our real world governments)
The entire Arc was set to build up to this one punch and this is the punch that will permanently change the trajectory of the straw hats and in turn, the fate of this world.
It’s incredible how much bigger the scale of the world becomes in this one Arc. We learn about the World Nobles and their historical origins, touch on the history and discrimination against Fishmen, and get 9 other pirates whose presence reminds us of how many other paths could’ve been taken through the first half of the Grand Line (not to mention serving as a metric for how strong other active pirates can be). Add all the lore dropped by Rayleigh, and the world of One Piece feels like it’s doubled in size and history.
Law's fruit can be explained as the power to take apart and rearrange things without harm. He can do that within the domain he creates (room). It has many uses, as you will learn further in the series.
